Daily Zohar # 5136 – Vayikra – Reaching to heaven
Daily Zohar 5136

#284
Tzaddik, which is Yessod, comprises six levels, that is, the six extremities. And because of this, they instituted to rectify a dream with three “shaloms” — that is, three verses in which “שלום” “peace” is mentioned; with three redemptions; with three verses in which “redemption” is mentioned (Berakhot 55b), because Yessod is Vav and they are together in the count of six. Corresponding to the six levels of Yessod, for the rectification of a dream is through Yessod.
And it is the ladder in the dream of Jacob, comprised of six sefirot. “מֻצָּב אַרְצָה” “set up on the earth” (Genesis 28:12) — that is, the lower Shekhinah, which is Malchut called “ארץ” “earth,” and she is the final Hei. “וְרֹאשׁוֹ” “and its top” — this is the Yod, in which is the tzaddik, which is Yessod, the seventh. The explanation is that this Yod is Chokhmah in Ima, and when one begins to count from Binah, who is Ima, Yessod is found to be the seventh. “מַגִּיעַ הַשָּׁמַיְמָה” “reaching to heaven” (Genesis 28:12) — this is the supernal Ima, and this is the upper Hei, that is, Binah of Binah. From the side of the dream, which is the aspect of the left (as explained in Vayetze, #45), the Hei rules over the Yod, which is the head of the ladder, which is the secret of “Hei-Yod” from Elohim. And because of this, it is written “and behold the angels of Elohim ascending” etc., and not “angels of YHVH.”

The letters in their order, which are Yod-Hei Vav-Hei, ascend with the point of the cholam (the vowel), which is Keter, upon the four letters, whose expansion is from Chokhmah until the holy Malchut. For Chokhmah is Yod, Binah is Hei, the six sefirot Chessed- Gevurah- Tiferet- Netzach- Hod- Yessod are Vav, Malchut is the final Hei. The cholam is Keter over all the letters. (from Ra’aya Meheimna).
Notes:
The Zohar reveals the deep structure of Yaakov’s ladder (Genesis 28:12) as the six sefirot of Zeir Anpin (the Vav), with Malchut as the final Hei at the bottom (“set on the earth”) and the Yod at the top representing Chokhmah within Ima. The rectification of dreams is connected to Yessod (the tzaddik), which is why three verses of “שלום” “shalom” and three of “redemption” (פדיונות) are recited — corresponding to the six directions of Yessod.
The letters of YHVH, crowned with the cholam (Keter), represent the complete expansion from Chokhmah to Malchut. This teaches that the ladder is the living structure of the divine Name, connecting all the worlds through the union of Zeir Anpin and Malchut, with Keter overseeing the entire ascent.
