Zohar Vayikra

#449
“Who offer themselves willingly (הַמִּתְנַדְּבִים) among the people” — these are the Fathers, that is Chessed-Gevurah-Tiferet of Zeir Anpin, who are called “willing ones,” as it is written, “נְדִיבֵי עַמִּים נֶאֱסָפוּ עַם אֱלֹהֵי אַבְרָהָם” “The willing ones of the peoples are gathered together, the people of the God of Abraham” (Psalms 47:10). That is, the Fathers who are drawn from Abraham, who is Chessed of Zeir Anpin, are called the willing ones of the peoples (נְדִיבֵי עַמִּים). Then, “bless YHVH,” to draw from Him blessings below, and blessings will be found in all the world. For when blessings from above are found here in this world below, everything is in joy, everything is in perfection, for no light is completed except when it is drawn into this world. Happy is the portion of Israel, for the Holy One, blessed be He, pours blessings upon them and listens to their prayer. And about them it is written, “פָּנָה אֶל תְּפִלַּת הָעַרְעָר וְלֹא בָזָה אֶת תְּפִלָּתָם” “He has turned to the prayer of the destitute and has not despised their prayer” (Psalms 102:18).
Notes:
The “willing ones” are the three Patriarchal sefirot (Chessed-Gevurah-Tiferet). When blessings flow from them into this world, all becomes complete and joyful. The Holy One, blessed be He, accepts the prayers of Israel and fills them with blessing.
Summary of Recent Zohar Studies
These final sections of Zohar Vayikra open with the great loss the world suffers when a luminous soul such as Rabbi Shimon departs, and the springs of wisdom are closed. Yet they also look forward to the time of Mashiach, when the earth will be filled with the knowledge of YHVH and deep secrets of Torah will be revealed to all.
A major theme is the difference between levels of soul. Only the nefesh actually sins; the higher levels of ruach and neshama withdraw before the sin occurs. A person of Israel who remains only with a nefesh still has the potential to rise and acquire ruach and neshama through Torah and service. One who clings to the impure side, however, becomes attached to harsh forces that appear in dreams and can lead the soul into the wandering of kaf ha-kela (כף הקלע). The goat offering is brought precisely when that spirit of impurity has touched a person, and the fire of the altar — the fire of Malchut — consumes the Other Side and brings atonement.
The studies repeatedly return to the power of midnight Torah study. When a person rises at the hour when Malchut awakens, he strengthens himself like a lion, draws the thread of Chessed of Abraham, and is renewed each morning as a new creation. Through this service the righteous one is crowned together with the Shechinah before the King.
The closing teachings explain the true source of sustenance. Food and blessing do not come merely from Zeir Anpin (“heavens”) but from higher still — from Atika Kadisha. Netzach and Hod grind the heavenly manna and channel it through Yessod to Malchut, so that righteousness and abundance flow into the world. True prayer must rise from the depths of Binah, drawing the Fathers (Chessed-Gevurah-Tiferet) to pour blessings downward until every light is completed in this world.
Happy is the portion of Israel, who are called children of the Holy One, blessed be He, and whose prayers He never despises.
We have completed the study of Zohar Vayikra. Blessed be Hashem forever and ever.
