Daily Zohar # 5229 – Beresheet – Support with the right female

And when Eve was completed, that is, when she was sawed off him and brought to him face to face, then Adam was completed, and before that Adam was not completed. The meaning is that Eve is considered lower in relation to Adam. Therefore, she is the cause for the emergence of the minds (mochin) of Adam, as explained above nearby regarding every upper and lower. And this is the secret of why the letter ‘ס’ Samekh was not written until now in the portion. For Samekh points to the female, and until now she was still included in Adam in the secret of two faces. And what it says “in the portion” and does not say “in the Torah” is because in the previous portion there is the letter Samekh, as it is written “הסובב את ארץ” “the one that surrounds the land of…” and only in this portion of the creation of Adam is no Samekh found until “וַיִּסְגֹּר בָּשָׂר, תַּחְתֶּנָּה” “and He closed up the flesh in its place.” And even though the friends said that Adam the first man had a female before Eve, who was called the first Lil-th, and if so he had a Samekh before Eve was created — he answers: But Samekh means support (עזר, ezer), and that is the support of Zeir Anpin and Nukva above, after they were returned face to face. For then, when they are face to face, the male and the female are supported one opposite the other. That is, they strengthen one another, for just as the female is strengthened from Zeir Anpin with the light of Chassadim, so Zeir Anpin is strengthened from the female with the illumination of Chochmah. Certainly “סמוכים לעד” “they support forever…” — “support” means that male and female are supported together, that is, they are face to face. And with this he answers why Lil-th is not called Samekh, for she did not cause the aspect of support above, which means the Mochin of face to face.

“כִּי לֹא הִמְטִיר יְהוָה אֱלֹהִים, עַל-הָאָרֶץ, וְאָדָם אַיִן, לַעֲבֹד אֶת-הָאֲדָמָה.” “For YHVH God had not caused it to rain upon the earth” — that is, Zeir Anpin and Nukva were not yet face to face, because this one depends on that one. For Zeir Anpin and Nukva face to face support Adam and Eve so that they will be face to face, and likewise Adam and Eve face to face support Zeir Anpin and Nukva so that they will be face to face. This lower world, that is Adam and Eve, the children of this world, when it was founded, and Adam and Eve were returned face to face and were fixed, then there is found support above, that is, Zeir Anpin and Nukva are also returned face to face. And before that, that is before Zeir Anpin and Nukva were returned face to face, the action below was not in its correction — that is, the action and building of Adam and Eve face to face could not come forth — because “כִּי לֹא הִמְטִיר יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהִים עַל הָאָרֶץ וְאָדָם אַיִן לַעֲבֹד אֶת הָאֲדָמָה” “YHVH God had not caused it to rain upon the earth,” (Genesis 2:5) which means that Zeir Anpin and Nukva were not yet face to face, as above. Thus one depends on the other: Zeir Anpin and Nukva depend on the face-to-face of Adam and Eve, and likewise the reverse, Adam and Eve depend on Zeir Anpin and Nukva. And it has already been explained that the face-to-face of Zeir Anpin and Nukva depends only on the raising of Mayin Nukvin of man, and the face-to-face of man depends on the minds of the face-to-face of Zeir Anpin and Nukva. And the minds of face-to-face of Zeir Anpin and Nukva necessarily precede the face-to-face of Adam and Eve. But because the Mayin Nukvin of man are the cause for the emergence of the minds (Mochin) of face-to-face of Zeir Anpin and Nukva, therefore they are considered earlier. Earlier and later in spirituality, where there is no time, mean cause and effect.
Notes:
#421 and #422 reveal the mutual dependence between the upper coupling of Zeir Anpin and Nukva and the lower coupling of Adam and Eve. Only when Eve is fully separated and reunited with Adam face to face is Adam himself completed. The letter Samekh, which first appears at that moment, signifies true support (ezer) — the mutual strengthening that occurs when male and female stand face to face and exchange Chassadim and Chochmah. The first female, Lil-th, did not create this support. Likewise, the verse “YHVH God had not caused it to rain” indicates that as long as Zeir Anpin and Nukva were not face to face, the lower world could not be properly built. Each level depends on the other: the raising of Mayin Nukvin by human beings draws the upper minds (Mochin), while those upper minds enable the full face-to-face rectification below.
