Continue from Daily Zohar #584
The 248 precepts of positive actions in the Torah were made to purify the garment of the soul in the physical world, which is the body.
“וַיֹּאמֶר, אַל-תִּקְרַב הֲלֹם; שַׁל-נְעָלֶיךָ, מֵעַל רַגְלֶיךָ–כִּי הַמָּקוֹם אֲשֶׁר אַתָּה עוֹמֵד עָלָיו, אַדְמַת-קֹדֶשׁ הוּא”
“And He said: ‘Do not come closer to this point; put off your shoes from off your feet, for the place where you stands is holy ground ”
Moses merited being the channel for the Torah and bringing its light to the world to help the people with their Tikkun process. For that purpose he needed to ‘climb’ to the level of Da’at, which is the bridge between the pure Light of the supernal level, Binah and Zeir Anpin, which is the aspect of the Torah that brings light to the process. Moses had to detach himself from Malchut that was represented by his shoes.
Moses found God by the ‘burning bush’ that did not burn because the place was beyond the state of physical reality. We also learned from this story that, Moses didn’t want to accept the ‘job’ at the beginning. He humbled himself before God saying, “מִי אָנֹכִי” “Who am I…”, explaining that he is not qualified for the task.
New to the upper levels and without his ‘physical’ garments, Moses did not have a specific identity. But the moment he came in front of God he was already in Da’at with the ability to connect the upper and lower.
The 7 times the word אָנֹכִי, “I”, appears in this Torah story and this represents the bridge that God created for Moses from Malchut to Binah. The first word in the revelation of the Torah on Mount Sinai was in the Ten Commandments that begins with this exact word “אָנֹכִי”.
The level of Da’at is a pure channeling state and from it Moses could see everything in Malchut. The bush and the fire were there but above time and space and therefore could not be consumed.
The Torah came from the level that is all life and continuation. Moses appears many times in the Zohar to testify to its purpose and be a vehicle to reach the higher levels.
