The month of Kislev (Mazal Keshet, Sagittarius) is the 9th month of the Hebrew year. This month is known for miracles because of the open channel of the Light of Yessod that is the 9th Sefira from Keter going down. On the 9th day of Kislev, we are on the 9th of the 9th, which is Yessod of Yessod. This special alignment of the sefirot happens once a year and it gives us the opportunity to tap into the level of Yessod and draw Light of sustenance and abundance.
Having this gate open for us on Shabbat, gives us a direct connection to Binah that is the source of all nourishment for the world.
If you missed this connection on the 9th of Kislev, you can still have access to this Light until the end of the month of Kislev but the gate is wide open on the 9th of the 9th. On the 9th hour of the 9th day of the 9th month, we have all the levels of Yessod aligned to the highest levels of Binah where the energy of fulfillment, success, and abundance comes from. The lights of Chanukah are called ‘children of Binah’ ‘בני בינה ימי שמונה…’.
Because the 9th is on Shabbat, this year, every hour of it has a strong connection to Binah. The peak time is on Shabbat afternoon from about half an hour after midday (Hebrew Clock, חצות) and half an hour before sundown. During this time we have the ninth hour of the ninth day of the ninth month.
Dedicate this Shabbat for Zohar studies, and include some reading of Psalms during day time. Psalms by King David have the aspect of connection to Malchut and together with Zohar studies make a great unification of Light in Malchut. Studying between Friday midnight and dawn is on a higher level because after midnight the Light increases its presence until it becomes visible at dawn. If you can wake up during this time even for a short study, it would be great for you.
The first half of the month (until the 15th of Kislev, December 13, 2019) has the strongest revelation of the Light of Yessod (the moon is waxing). The lighting of the Chanukah candles on the last week of this month reveals the Light of miracles, carrying it to the next month and to the rest of the year.

The secret of the 9th of the 9th of the 9th is revealed by the kabbalist, Rabbi Avraham Marimon HaSfaradi of blessed memory (Brit Menucha ברית מנוחה). This kabbalist is mentioned and referenced by Rabbi Chaim Vital in the writings of the Holy Ari.

Rabbi Avraham Azulai of blessed memory wrote in his book Chesed L’Avraham, “I saw in the book ‘Brit Menucha’ that the ninth month in the ninth day of the ninth hour is a time of great success and the reason for this is because it is the ninth wheel of the Yessod and is a pipe of abundance”.

Meditate for yourself and for others to channel this energy into your life and for the whole world.
Remember that Yessod is the funnel of the Light to Malchut and your meditation should match that energy. Meditate big, meditate globally. Keep a positive and sharing consciousness at all times.
Because it’s on Shabbat this year, you shouldn’t cry or complain about your ‘challenges’. Be positive and ask for the light to bless your life with whatever you need. Do not ask for specific things. God knows better than you about your true needs. Commit yourself to allocate time on a daily or weekly basis to study and reveal light. Even if you do it alone, it has the aspect of sharing because every study reveals light and affects the environment.

How to maximize this spiritual connection?
The ninth of the ninth is not a holiday and there are no special prayers defined for it but there are ‘tools’ that we can use to enhance our vessel to receive the Light.
The key to open the gate of Yessod is by doing Tzedakah during this month and before the 9th day to have a proper vessel for this Light. Give before Shabbat or make a commitment to give shortly after.
Tap here to give Tzedakah. You can give anywhere you find a channel of light that benefits you or that you appreciate.
The sages say (Zeraim 10:2) “ולעולם אין אדם מעני מן הצדקה, ואין דבר רע ולא היזק נגלל בשביל הצדקה–שנאמר “והיה מעשה הצדקה, שלום”
“A person will never be poor from giving Tzedakah and no harm or damage will come to him from giving Tzedakah, as it said in (Isaiah 32:17)
“וְהָיָה מַעֲשֵׂה הַצְּדָקָה, שָׁלוֹם; וַעֲבֹדַת, הַצְּדָקָה–הַשְׁקֵט וָבֶטַח, עַד-עוֹלָם.”
“And the effect of righteousness (Tzedakah) will be peace, and the result of righteousness (Tzedakah), quietness and trust forever.”
The power of Tzedakah is significant this month because the gate of Yessod is already open and Tzedakah is like getting a ticket to pass through.
Reading the text of “Elijah Opened” is also a useful tool to open all spiritual levels on the Tree of Life. Read it after receiving the Shabbat before the Kiddush of Friday night. Also, on the Shabbat before the morning services.
“Elijah Opened” is the words of Elijah the prophet, said to Rabbi Shimon before he started the study of the 70 Tikunei Zohar. They were made to support the presence of the Shechinah in our world.
