Holy Zohar text. Daily Zohar -1027

Tikkun 5 – 1

בְּרֵאשִׁית “In the Beginning”, has the word “בָאֵשׁ”, meaning “in fire”.

The Zohar quotes Isaiah 66:16
“ כִּי בָאֵשׁ יְהוָה נִשְׁפָּט, וּבְחַרְבּוֹ אֶת-כָּל-בָּשָׂר; וְרַבּוּ, חַלְלֵי יְהוָה”
“For by fire will YHVH contend, and by His sword with all flesh; and the slain of YHVH shall be many”

Fire is left column and judgment that is the aspect of cause and effect. YHVH is the judge and the executioner is God (אלהים ,ELHIM).

Exodus 22:17 “אֱלֹהִים, לֹא תְקַלֵּל; וְנָשִׂיא בְעַמְּךָ, לֹא תָאֹר”
“You shall not revile God, nor curse a ruler of your people.”

We are responsible for our actions and therefore we cannot blame God for the outcome, which is the Tikkun process. Rabbi Ashlag of blessed memory tells us that the Tikun process is the act of mercy from God. It helps us correct the wrongs and impurities we carry from previous or current life. The punishment is when God ‘ignores’ us (hiding his face, הסתר פנים) and as a result we are ‘drifted’ to the negative side.

This is an important teaching because it puts the responsibility in our hands. We must stay closer to the light so we won’t make mistakes that could distance us farther from the light. If we do, we can expect a great mercy to come in the next life in a form of bigger and harder Tikkun process. I must admit that it took me a little time to understand the depth of this revelation by Rabbi Ashlag.

A harder Tikkun doesn’t mean poverty or health problems. A greedy person may become richer in next life; require dealing with a greater energy in his hands. Would he use it for more actions and businesses based on greed or would he use the opportunity to channel that power in the proper directions? We know people that no matter what they do, they succeed in business. They may fall a few times but they quickly recover. Why? Because their Tikkun is of the aspect of what to do with the money or any kind of achievements. That is why they don’t need to work hard to get there.

I don’t mean that rich people should throw their money toward the light and charities. It is not about giving a billion dollars away and finish with the Tikkun. They are responsible to maintain a flow of energy in the right direction. Not every ‘pan handler’ (organizations) is honest or has a proper vessel to do the work of the light. Some will use the money for a bottle of alcohol (desire for the self) before bringing home (to the true people in need) few coins.

Psalms 75:8 “כִּי-אֱלֹהִים שֹׁפֵט; זֶה יַשְׁפִּיל, וְזֶה יָרִים.”
“For God is judge; He put down one, and lift up another.”

God is just and the system is absolute truth. No one can hide from his judgment.

Jeremiah 17:10 (I suggest reading the entire chapter)
“ אֲנִי יְהוָה חֹקֵר לֵב, בֹּחֵן כְּלָיוֹת: וְלָתֵת לְאִישׁ כִּדְרָכָו, כִּפְרִי מַעֲלָלָיו”
“I YHVH search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings.”

A friend posted a question on the previous DZ that I think it should be answered here:
Zion where does it say that even poor people must give 10% of their money away to charity? In a time of such economic hardship, how can such an ancient law still be applicable to the 21st century? Most governments around the world already slam their citizens with increasingly heavy taxes, and the cost of living is increasing. Only the Mormons ask their members to tithe, promising ‘riches’ in the world to come.”

The answer is simple. At first we need to know that this is not an ancient law. Gravity was there in day one of Creation and still is. The spiritual system and its laws (Torah) preceded creation and it is still on until it gets changed at the time of the Final Redemption.

The spiritual system of the Tree of Knowledge Good and Bad governs us. We live in the world of Malchut, a realm that doesn’t have light of its own. We reveal the light when we ‘restrict’ it or push it back. Nothing is visible to the eyes unless the light (physical) is reflected from it. The elements that are visible are those who emits light, like the sun and other sources of energy that ‘radiates’ some kind of light. If it doesn’t come from the inside, then there is no light.

If a person only absorbs energy from his surroundings he is in total darkness and being so different from the nature of light, he gains greater distance from the light.

When we tithe, we emit some of the light we receive and become ‘visible’ like an oil candle that accepts the light and lets the flow of oil to be replenished in his vessel. 10% is the aspect of Malchut that is death without light. When we release that aspect of Malchut from us, we gain a ‘lift’ to the sefirah of Yessod where the light comes down to the world. Yessod, like Joseph, is the aspect of money and continuous flow of light. Giving more will lift us further but first we should remember that we need to expand the vessel with greater desire for the light and as we get more from the light, we share more. Some people, because of their Tikkun process, may have to stay in poverty for the rest of their lives but they should make efforts to give from their heart, soul and might as much as they can (see DZ 1026) to open channels for the light to come in. We are responsible to give from our energy (10% or more from the net income) to where the light continues its flow. We don’t have to give the entire tithe to one place and we can divide it wisely between the sources that give us light.

Another aspect of tithing and sharing is using skills and time to help others. It all comes back to “And you shall love YHVH your God with all your HEART, and with all your SOUL, and with all your MIGHT.”
