Pinchas 270-272
Michael, Gabriel, Nuriel and Raphael are the four angels that control the positive aspect of the four elements in man. They are Fire, Air (spirit), Water and Earth. Each of the elements has four faces: עָוֹן מַשְׁחִית אַף וְחֵמָה, Sin, Destruction, Anger and Rage.
מרה, ‘Bile’ is part of the digestive system. The literal meaning of the word in Hebrew is ‘Bitterness’. The bile supports the break down and transformation of solid food into fluid in the body and allows it to absorb the nutrition of the food.
The Zohar describes four aspects of negativity using the word מרה, ‘Bitterness’, bile, to teach us the spiritual process that occurs in the body when we are under the control of the Klipot and the four negative attributes.
מָרָה לְבָנָה – ‘White Bitterness’ affects the lungs and creates holes or damage on the surface of the lungs. It is the aspect of the Klipah of ‘Stormy Wind’ and ‘Great brightness’ (Klipat Nogah). The Stormy Wind is the aspect of all negative and the Great Brightness has two opposite sides of Negative and Positive.
וּבַמָּרָה הָאָדֹם – ‘Red Bitterness’ controls the liver with the Klipah of ‘Flaring Fire’ and ‘Destructive’.
וּבְמָרָה יְרֻקָּה – ‘Green Bitterness’ controls the liver by holding to it and brings the aspect of ‘Stormy Wind’, ‘Anger’ and the ‘Sword of the angel of death’.
וּבְמָרָה שְׁחֹרָה – ‘Black Bitterness’ is the worst one and controls the Spleen. It brings melancholy, sadness, poorness, darkness, depression, crying for loss and hunger.
The four negative attributes of Sin, Destructive, Anger and Rage affect our body and soul. Zohar Pinchas has a lot of secrets related to health and this one is very significant to study and apply in our daily lives.
Sin – Avoiding actions that are not on the positive spiritual path as the Zohar teaches us form the Torah.
Destructive – Avoid any action, including speaking, that are not in the process of supporting and building others.
Anger – Stay positive and avoid situations that could upset you.
Rage – Definitely never be reactive or lose control.
These negativity ‘melt’ away the health (Light) that one has in his body. It transforms good body parts into negative and ‘Black Bitterness’.
The Zohar also tells us that when we push away these Klipot we get the control of the Tree of Life with 72 ‘faces’ that comes from arranging the name YHVH in the form
י,יה,יהו,יהוה the 10 letters have the numerical value of 72.
This Zohar teaching is a great motivator for all of us to stay on a positive spiritual path because it benefits our bodies as much as it allows the souls to elevate higher.
Bookmark or print this Zohar section as it helps in getting out of ‘Black Bitterness’.
