Zohar Bo
DZ 1726
Continued from previous DZ
The Satan took God’s permission and destroyed all of Job’s sources of income. Job reacted to this situation saying;
Job 1:21
“And he said, “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return. YHVH gave, and YHVH has taken away; blessed be the name of YHVH.””
Job had strong faith in God and accepted that judgment knowing well that everything was from God and material wealth was temporary.
Job 2:5
“However, put forth Your hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh; he will curse You to Your face.”
Satan came back to God telling him that if Job’s is hurt directly, then he will curse God.
Job 2:6
“And YHVH said to Satan, “Behold, he is in your hand; only spare his life.””
God gave Satan full permission to harm Job directly but he could not touch his soul.
Genesis 6:13
“And God said to Noah, “I have determined to make an end of all flesh”
This verse from the Torah when God revealed to Noah his plan to bring the flood and remove all living creatures from the Earth.
The Zohar tells us that it is about the end of the material body and not the souls of the people. People died in the Flood but their souls continued in the reincarnation process so they can correct themselves.
God didn’t let Satan touch Job’s soul because it was the only thing that connects the person’s actions and feeling to God.
The true free choice is about how the soul reacts to events while it’s in physical existence at the level of Malchut.
The ultimate test for the soul is when the person experiences great lack of something in his life or pain and suffering that come from a flawed or ill body.
The soul is always stronger than the body and it should set the spiritual path and make the body follow it. People who wait for God to give them riches before doing acts of giving and sharing are terribly wrong. Rich people, as well as most others, come closer to ‘God’ because they are seeking protection for their wealth, health and family. Poor people come to God because they are looking for an ‘ear’ to listen to them and answer their prayers.
Ask yourself what would you do if you had to experience the pain and suffering that Job went through.
Life in this body is temporary, let it work for your soul no matter what kind of experience you go through. Those who do their best for their soul will merit the Resurrection and Immortality, otherwise when the end of their flesh comes so it’s for their souls. I follow the teaching of the Zohar and choose immortality. I hope you do too.
