Zohar Emor
Continued from previous DZ

Proverbs 31:14
“הָיְתָה, כָּאֳנִיּוֹת סוֹחֵר; מִמֶּרְחָק, תָּבִיא לַחְמָהּ.”
“She is like merchant ships; She brings her food from afar.”
‘Merchant ships’ is the aspect of the Shechinah that is the vehicle to bring to Malchut the Light from Chokmah, which is the ‘food’ that sustains our lives.

Those who merit a share in the ‘food’ that Shechina brings are those who study after midnight.
The Holy One Blessed be He, releases the Yessod of Zeir Anpin to support the connection of the Tzadik, giving him ability to channel the Light in Malchut.

Psalms 111:5
“טֶרֶף, נָתַן לִירֵאָיו; יִזְכֹּר לְעוֹלָם בְּרִיתוֹ”
“He has given food to those who fear (Awe) Him; He will remember His covenant forever”

The Torah is called ‘covenant’ and the aspect of Zeir Anpin. The Holy One Blessed be He “remembers the covenant”, and connects the person with Yessod of Zeir Anpin, bestowing upon him the power to channel Light and blessings to Malchut.

The time of Midnight varies everyday and location. The midday/midnight is calculated by dividing the time between sunrise and sunset in half. The Hebrew clock/calendar is based on shifts of energy. Daytime and nighttime have 12 hours each. So night hour is different from day hour because the length of day and night are different.

Midday or midnight are always the same. For example midnight (May/9/2016) in Jerusalem 12:35am, New York is 12:51 am, LA 12:50am, London 12:57, Rio Brazil 11:49pm. For your local time check http://MyZmanim.com.

There is a special prayers for men that is done after midnight. It’s called “Tikkun Chatzot”, meaning the ‘correction’ of midnight. Women do not do Tikkun Chatzot for several reasons, mainly for a similar reason that they don’t go up to the Torah on Shabbat.
For men and women who desire to make a connection after midnight, I suggest waking up after midnight, do netilat yadyim (washing of the hands), then read/scan/listen to Patach Eliyahu (Elijah opened) followed by Zohar study.

The Secrets of Pathach Eliyahu (Elijah Opened)

During the study a pure person can meditate on sending Light to people in need.
