Zohar Bamidbar
Continued from previous DZ
Song of Songs 2:6
“שְׂמֹאלוֹ תַּחַת לְרֹאשִׁי וִימִינוֹ תְּחַבְּקֵנִי”
“His left hand is under my head, and his right hand embraces me!”
The Zohar reveals that the Shechina is in the west so it can be between North and south.
Song of Songs 3:7
“הִנֵּה, מִטָּתוֹ שֶׁלִּשְׁלֹמֹה–שִׁשִּׁים גִּבֹּרִים, סָבִיב לָהּ: מִגִּבֹּרֵי, יִשְׂרָאֵל.”
“Behold the bed of Solomon- sixty migty men are about it, Of the mighty men of Israel.”
The bed is the aspect of Malchut. King Solomon’s bed was positioned North (head) to South (legs) to prepare a complete vessel (six sefirot of Zeir Anpin x 10=60) for the light of the next day.
North – Left – Gevurah – connection to Chokmah and the aspect of the Head.
South – Right – Chessed – lower seven Sefirot that is the aspect of the Body.
During the morning prayer we read Psalms 48 that is according to the Alef Bet and have 10 times the word “הללויה” “Halellu YH”, “Praise YH”. Then we read the last five chapters of Psalms that each of them begins and ends with Halelu YH to give us another ten connections to the name. It fills our vessels with light and enable us to climb spiritually to the world of Briah (Creation, Shema Israel) and Emanation (Atzilut, Amida, silent prayer).
The Zohar teaches us the spiritual system that allows us to build and grow a better vessel with spiritual technology to draw light into it. Psalms is very important during the day time.
The Zohar is on a higher level than Psalms but like in the process of prayer, we use Psalms to support our elevation, it would help us to read few Psalms to expand our vessel before reading and studying Zohar. The Zohar is full or references and studies of Psalms verses to teach us about the many secrets concealed in them.
The Holy Ari said that we do not read Bible during night time. We know that during the night time, the other side has greater control for the other side. Psalms is in the aspect of Malchut (King David) and ‘closer’ to the reach of the impure-side. The Rashah, Rabbi Shalom Sharabi, that was connected to the soul of the Holy Ari said that Psalms is not part of the Ari’s exclusion. Other Kabbalists restricts but allow reading of Psalms toward the morning time. Bottom line, It’s not completely forbidden. If a person is not completely pure or praying for another person’s health, than the other side may ‘steal’ the light.
It’s beneficial to align our beds North (head) to South(legs). Since it’s not always easy to do, set priority to set your head far from a door as the door/opening usually have negativity. The Snake lurks by the openings.
In the complete prayer on the bed we include the verse from Songs 3:7 above to connect to the bed of Solomon that was perfectly aligned and protected.
