Zohar Vayakhel
#75
After teaching us about our freedom of choosing our path, the Zohar tells us that all future events and the related forces of nature were conditioned to follow the will of God as planned on the first day of Creation. On the first day, God created the heavens and made a condition to carry Elijah in a storm to heavens as it says ‘And Elijah went up by a whirlwind to heaven.’
2 Kings 2:11
“As they were going along and talking, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire and horses of fire which separated the two of them. And Elijah went up by a whirlwind to heaven.”
When God commanded the light to appear, he also made a term that the light will go dark in Egypt for three days as it says Exodus 10:22
“So Moses stretched out his hand toward the sky, and there was thick darkness in all the land of Egypt for three days.”

Genesis 1:6
“Then God said, “Let there be an expanse in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters.”
On the second day, God separated the waters to have pure water and impure water so the Israelites would have water that would purify them.
Lesson;
Deuteronomy 30:19
“I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life so that you may live, you and your descendants,”
God gives us the freedom to do as we want. God provides the light and force that would help us to fulfill our will, positive or negative. The world around us was conditioned to answer to our will. But it is on ourselves to choose ‘life’ that would benefit us.
The sages in ‘Ethics of the Fathers’ chapter 3 tell us;
“15. All is foreseen, and freedom of choice is granted. The world is judged with goodness, but in accordance with the amount of man’s positive deeds.”
The question is; if it’s all forseen then where is the freedom of choice? The most acceptable answer is that God sees everything and he let us follow our desires. It’s up to us to choose the path that leads us to Wisdom, which is Chokmah.
