Daily Zohar # 3156 – Vaetchanan – God’s Tefillin
.

Zohar Vaetchanan
#173
The Zohar mentions that people from the south, reveal their secrets about the Tefillin. They say that the four chambers of the Tefillin of the head are arranged as
1. Keter –
2. Chokmah
3. Binah
4. Chessed.
For the Tefillin of the arm, all four Torah texts are included in the one house of the Tefillin of the left arm and it is called ‘עז’ that means ‘strength, might’, a name that is a reference to the Torah.
Isaiah 62:8 “נִשְׁבַּע יְהוָה בִּימִינוֹ וּבִזְרוֹעַ עֻזּוֹ” “YHVH has sworn by his right hand and by his mighty arm”
#174
The Zohar continues and says that they don’t accept that Keter is the first because Keter includes everything in it and can’t be considered as one of the four. In addition, the second chamber is related to leaving Egypt and freedom to go to the Holy Land. It must be connected to Binah that is freedom and not to Chokmah as the people of the south claim. The correct connection to the Sefirot is with Chokmah as the first and Binah as the second.
The Holy One Blessed be He in the aspect of Zeir Anpin, wears Tefillin. Four Torah parts that represent the light of Zeir Anpin above are placed on the head connecting to the brain. Four Torah parts placed as one on the arm, pointing to the heart that is an aspect of Malchut.
Lesson;
God’s wear Tefillin is the revelation of the Light when we wear Tefillin below. The unification that we make with the Tefillin connects Zeir Anpin that is YHVH with the Light of Chokmah, Binah and Da’at. These sefirot are on the ‘head’ of Zeir Anpin. With the Tefillin on the left arm that is against the heart, Zeir Anpin connects to Malchut for a complete unification.
When heart and mind are connected with the use of the Tefillin, then there is a great revelation of Light. This is the aspect of ‘Love’ that is expressed with the Shema Israel.
