“And the angels of God were ascending and descending on it”. The ascending angels are lead by the archangel Metat-. They are holy and very close to Malchut.
The other angels that are farther from Malchut are from the other-side. The descend without the ability to rise.

When Metat- ascend, the angels of God come with him. When he goes down, twelve special angels join him.
(Please do not read the names of the angels aloud. Just scan with your eyes.)

They are also the aspect of the chariots of God.
Psalms 68:18
“רֶכֶב אֱלֹהִים רִבֹּתַיִם אַלְפֵי שִׁנְאָן אֲדֹנָי בָם סִינַי בַּקֹּדֶשׁ”
“The chariots of God are myriads, thousands upon thousands; The Lord is among them as at Sinai, in holiness.”
The word ‘שִׁנְאָן’ from the verse above appears only once in the Bible. It is not a Hebrew or Aramaic word and the English translation is a pure guess related to the general meaning of the verse. The Zohar reveals that this word represents the initials of the four Holy Creatures
Letter ש for שור – Ox
Letter נ for נשר – Eagle
Letter א for אריה – Lion
Letter ן for אדם – man
The word for man is אדם ‘Adam’ and the Zohar explains that the letter that represents man, Adam, is the letter Nun ן. This letter is stretched below the baseline (Malchut) and like the first Adam when he was created, he was made as male and female, Zeir Anpin and Malchut. Later Malchut, Eve, was separated from Adam, Zeir Anpin.

Metat- is the aspect of the ‘Ladder’, the angels that ascend with him take control and those that go down, lessen their control.
The ladder is under the control of YHVH as it says in the verse below ‘And behold, YHVH stood above’
Genesis 28:13
“ וְהִנֵּה יְהוָה נִצָּב עָלָיו, וַיֹּאמַר, אֲנִי יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵי אַבְרָהָם אָבִיךָ, וֵאלֹהֵי יִצְחָק; הָאָרֶץ, אֲשֶׁר אַתָּה שֹׁכֵב עָלֶיהָ–לְךָ אֶתְּנֶנָּה, וּלְזַרְעֶךָ”
“And behold, YHVH stood above it and said, “I am YHVH, the God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac; the land on which you lie, I will give it to you and to your descendants.”
When Jacob woke up from his dream he realized that he saw the gate of heaven.
Genesis 28:16,17
“וַיִּיקַץ יַעֲקֹב, מִשְּׁנָתוֹ, וַיֹּאמֶר, אָכֵן יֵשׁ יְהוָה בַּמָּקוֹם הַזֶּה; וְאָנֹכִי, לֹא יָדָעְתִּי”
“וַיִּירָא, וַיֹּאמַר, מַה-נּוֹרָא, הַמָּקוֹם הַזֶּה: אֵין זֶה, כִּי אִם-בֵּית אֱלֹהִים, וְזֶה, שַׁעַר הַשָּׁמָיִם”
“Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, “Surely YHVH is in this place, and I did not know it.””
“He was afraid and said, “How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven.””

Lesson;
The angel Metat- is the keeper of the gate between Machut and Yessod. He’s out the connection to the upper levels.
The name שדי 314 protects the ‘gate’ between the lower and upper levels. The archangel Metat- מטטרון 314 carries the prayers from the gate to the higher levels. The number 314 is related to Pi, 3.14 that we can associate with the Endless Light because of its infinite possibilities. The closest number to Pi is 22/7 that represents the energy cycle of the week with the 22 letters of the Hebrew Alef-Bet that propel everything in Creation.

In the picture, Rabbi Yehuda Tzvi Brandwein Shlita (Grandson of…) writes a Torah scroll that went later to the Yeshiva of Kol Yehuda (Rabbi Ashlag) in the old City of Jerusalem. The event took place in a balcony with the view of the Temple mount (Aka ‘Gate of Heaven’ from Jacob’s dream. The scroll in the picture shows the exact Torah text from our study. The words at the bottom of the scroll are “שער השמים”, “Gate of Heaven”.

Gate of Heaven

The vessel for the ink is made from pure silver for the aspect of Right, Chessed and Sharing. The pen is made from a natural bird feather (Usually from a Turkey that has strong feathers and can produce sharp writing). In the picture, we see another person holding the pen with the scribe to join the merit of writing a Sefer Torah that is a great Mitzvah.
