98. צְאוּ מִכָּאן, אַשְׁרֵיכֶם. יָצְאוּ. נָתַן לָהֶם אוֹתוֹ מְמֻנֶּה שׁוֹשַׁנָּה (אַחֶרֶת) אַחַת וְיָצְאוּ. כְּשֶׁיָּצְאוּ, נִסְתַּם פִּי הַמְּעָרָה וְלֹא נִרְאָה כְּלָל. רָאוּ אוֹתוֹ נֶשֶׁר שֶׁהָיָה יוֹרֵד מֵאוֹתוֹ עֵץ וְנִכְנַס לִמְעָרָה אַחֶרֶת. הֵרִיחוּ הֵם בְּאוֹתָהּ שׁוֹשַׁנָּה וְנִכְנְסוּ לְשָׁם, מָצְאוּ אוֹתוֹ נֶשֶׁר עַל פִּי הַמְּעָרָה. אָמַר לָהֶם, הִכָּנְסוּ צַדִּיקֵי אֱמֶת חֲבֵרִים, שֶׁהֲרֵי לֹא רָאִיתִי שִׂמְחַת הַחַבְרוּתָא מִיּוֹם שֶׁאֲנִי כָּאן, אֶלָּא בָכֶם.

The Zohar explains another aspect of two + one. Metat- and Sandal- are two angels of the highest levels. We are not allowed to pronounce their name, only in a short form. They are chariots for the unification of Zeir Anpin and Malchut of the world of Atzilut. This unification is expressed in the Holy Ark that is in the Holy Temple. Above the Ark were two cherubs representing the two angels and the unification in the world of Atzilut. For that reason, the Holy One Blessed be He is also called ‘the Cherubs rider’.
When there is no unification, the Holy One Blessed be He ‘rides’ only on one angel.
“וַיִּרְכַּב עַל כְּרוּב וַיָּעֹף וַיֵּדֶא עַל כַּנְפֵי רוּחַ.”
“And He rode upon a cherub, and flew; He flew upon the wings of the wind.”
When Joseph who was the chariot for the Sefira of Yessod ‘disappeared’ from his father, the angel Metat- got disconnected from Malchut and Sandal- was left to connect to Benjamin, Joseph’s brother. Joseph was the male aspect of Yessod and Benjamin was the female aspect of Yessod.
The ‘appointed’ one gave them a rose that is the secret of Malchut in the aspect of the Lower Chokmah. He told them to move out of the cave because they deserve a greater spiritual elevation. They got out and couldn’t see the cave’s entrance again. Then they saw the Eagle come down from a tree and enter a different cave. They smell the rose to connect to Chokmah and enter the same place. The eagle welcomed them with happiness and told them that since he first came to this place, he didn’t see the joy of true righteous people in their studies like they have.
The ‘appointed one’ is a spiritual entity that came to support Rabbi Yitzchak and Rabbi Chiya in the spiritual ‘trip’.
The ‘Eagle’ as explained in #94 above is Rabbi Iali.
Jacob, who is the Center Column, Tiferet, couldn’t see his son Joseph and the flow of Light on the Center Column was suspended. The angel Metat- is on the gate of Yessod and had to go up to Chokmah until the connection to Yessod is fully restored. Jacob couldn’t connect and reveal Light in Malchut because he didn’t have Joseph/Yessod to continue Light from the upper levels to Malchut.
