I created a WhatsApp group called ‘Zohar Sparks’ for Daily Zohar users. It is not a chat and only I can send messages. I plan to share short ‘sparks’ of Zohar that come to my mind during studies and not always published on the Daily Zohar studies. I will share info about spiritual events, special meditations, links, and whatever has value to share. I can’t tell now how often I will post a message. You can join and leave the group anytime. The size of the group is limited and I am working to expand it. Tap here to join the Zohar Sparks group.

Zohar Vayechi

Deuteronomy 10:15
“רַק בַּאֲבֹתֶיךָ חָשַׁק יְהוָה לְאַהֲבָה אוֹתָם וַיִּבְחַר בְּזַרְעָם אַחֲרֵיהֶם בָּכֶם מִכָּל הָעַמִּים כַּיּוֹם הַזֶּה.”
YHVH delighted only in your fathers, to love them; and He chose their descendants after them, you above all peoples, as it is this day.”
‘Only in your fathers’ are Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. It says ‘Only’ to indicate that the three are the principals and the lower three worlds branch out of them.

Rabbi Yossi said that from the day Rabbi Shimon left the cave, they could look at the supernal secrets and reveal their inner meaning as if they were given to them at that moment on Mount Sinai.
After Rabbi Shimon passed away, it is written;
Genesis 8:2
“וַיִּסָּכְרוּ מַעְיְנֹת תְּהוֹם וַאֲרֻבֹּת הַשָּׁמָיִם וַיִּכָּלֵא הַגֶּשֶׁם מִן הַשָּׁמָיִם.”
“The springs of the deep and the windows of heaven were also stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained.”
It means that the springs of wisdom were sealed and the friends could not reveal and understand the secrets as before.

This paragraph starts a new study, which we will do when we come back to Vayechi.

Lesson;
The first three sefirot of Zeir Anpin, Chessed, Gevurah, and Tiferet correspond to the patriarchs Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. They are important because they connect to the upper three, which are Chokmah, Binah, and Da’at, and bring sustenance to all the levels below.

When Rabbi Shimon was in the cave, he and his son, Rabbi Elazar were on a high spiritual level that the friends couldn’t reach by themselves. When Rabbi Shimon left the cave, he had to lower himself a little and that allowed the friends to connect to his channel and reveal secrets from the Torah.
After his passing, the huge channel of Rabbi Shimon closed and they couldn’t reveal secrets as before.

Friday is a good day to make a ** Donation, especially if you didn’t make a donation in the past week. Giving on Friday, which is an aspect of Yessod, expands the vessel for the Light and honor of Shabbat.
** Your donation doesn’t have to be given to the same place every week. You can alternate or split your donation among those who benefit you spiritually.
