Genesis 37:24
“וַיִּקָּחֻהוּ וַיַּשְׁלִכוּ אֹתוֹ הַבֹּרָה וְהַבּוֹר רֵק אֵין בּוֹ מָיִם.”
“Then they took him and cast him into a pit. And the pit was empty; there was no water in it.”
Down the pit, no water is the aspect of life and Torah.
Rabbi Yehuda says that those who make efforts to study the Torah will have life in two worlds, this world and in the world to come. Even those who don’t do their best earn rewards in the world and are saved from judgments in the afterlife.
Psalm 19:8
“תּוֹרַת יְהוָה תְּמִימָה מְשִׁיבַת נָפֶשׁ עֵדוּת יְהוָה נֶאֱמָנָה מַחְכִּימַת פֶּתִי.”
“The Torah of YHVH is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of YHVH is faithful, gives wisdom to simple people;.”

Proverb 3:16
“אֹרֶךְ יָמִים בִּימִינָהּ בִּשְׂמֹאולָהּ עֹשֶׁר וְכָבוֹד.”
“Length of days is in her right hand, In her left hand riches and honor.”
“Length of days” for those who study for the sake of the Torah, meaning revealing its Light. They receive the length of days in the eternal world that has long days and long life. These days are days of holiness that certainly earn the expected rewards that drive the people to study the Torah and be happy in the eternal world.
“In her left-hand riches and honor” tells about the good rewards and peace that those who study Torah merit to have in this world.
