“They watered the flocks from that well” (Genesis 29:2). From this, well uppers and lowers are blessed. “The stone on the mouth of the well was large” (ibid). The stone is the harsh judgment that is called large stone and where the other-side wishes to draw nourishment. The flocks represent the six sefirot of the King, Zeir Anpin. They are Chessed, Gevurah, Tiferet, Netzach, Hod, and Yessod. When they gather, they draw blessings from the King’s head, that is, the upper three sefirot of Zeir Anpin, and together they can remove the harsh judgment that blocks the well from accessing the water for the flocks.
Genesis 29:3
“וְנֶאֶסְפוּ שָׁמָּה כָל הָעֲדָרִים וְגָלֲלוּ אֶת הָאֶבֶן מֵעַל פִּי הַבְּאֵר וְהִשְׁקוּ אֶת הַצֹּאן וְהֵשִׁיבוּ אֶת הָאֶבֶן עַל פִּי הַבְּאֵר לִמְקֹמָהּ.”
“Now, all the flocks would be gathered there, and they would roll the stone from the well’s mouth, water the sheep, and put the stone back in its place on the well’s mouth.”

When they “water the flocks,” it means that they pull blessings from the well to the upper and lower levels. “Put the stone back in its place on the well’s mouth” means that they restore the judgment to its place because it is required for the correction of the world. Judgment needs to protect the well from revealing the Light of Chokmah unless all flocks are gathered.
From the river source, the Holy One Blessed be He pours blessings upon Rabbi Shimon and his friends. Because of their Torah studies, the entire generation is blessed. It is written about them;
Isaiah 54:13
“וְכָל בָּנַיִךְ לִמּוּדֵי יְהוָה וְרַב שְׁלוֹם בָּנָיִךְ.”
“All your children shall be taught by YHVH, And great shall be the peace of your children.”
