Zohar Emor
Continued from previous DZ
#171
Like a king, who had an only son, came to pair him with a supernal wife. The mother went into the treasuries and took out a supernal crown with seventy precious stones and adorned it. She took out silk garments, clothed him, and prepared him on the level of kings.

#172
His mother then entered the bride’s house and saw maidens preparing crowns and clothing and jewelry to make her ready. She said to them, ‘I have fixed a place for the bride to immerse at the water source. All the scents and perfumes around the water are to purify my bride. The bride would come to my son, with her maidens, and purify themselves in the place I prepared for immersion in living water which is with me. Afterward, adorn her with jewelry, dress her in her clothes, and put the crown on her. Tomorrow, when my son comes to mate with her, he will make a palace for everyone and dwell with you.

Lesson;
The analogy of bride and groom teaches us that the unification of Malchut and Zeir Anpin should be made with proper preparation and purity. Binah is the source of living water that purifies us. A mikveh is a ‘bath’ with water from above (rain, melted snow) and water from below. This is an aspect of the unification of water from Binah and water from Malchut.
On Shabbat, we at the level of Binah and our connection to Zeir Anpin with Torah studies, purify us.
