Holy Zohar text. Daily Zohar -3958

Continued from previous DZ
Joshua 24:2
“And Joshua said to all the people, “Thus says YHVH God of Israel: ‘Your fathers, including Terah, the father of Abraham and the father of Nahor, dwelt on the other side of the River in old times; and they served other gods.”

#189
He asks, what is the meaning when the scripture says, “the other side of the River in old times (מֵעוֹלָם, ‘from world’),” and answers, it is to show that Chokmah is beyond the river that is called ‘world,’ and Binah is also called ‘world.’ That is why the verse says, “Your fathers dwelt on the other side of the river.”.
The Holy One Blessed be He showed Chessed and truth to Israel when he took the fathers from across the river, which is the Left line of Binah as explained above (#188).
The verse doesn’t mention Isaac, only Abraham, because Abraham, as the Right of Zeir Anpin, was not attached to the Left of Binah. Isaac is on the Left of Zeir Anpin, and he clings to the Left of Binah to receive his strength from Chokmah on the Left. And so it is written, “and I will take your father, Abraham.”

#190
The river, Binah, is the attribute of Mercy. Even though Binah is Mercy, judgments come out from the Left side of Binah when its Chokmah is without Chassadim, and judgments get stronger. When Isaac draws his strength from that level, the upper and lower levels gather in front of the judge’s throne, which is the aspect of judgment in Malchut. The Holy King, Zeir Anpin, sits on this throne and judges the entire world. Then is said (Psalm 81:4) “תִּקְעוּ בַחֹדֶשׁ שׁוֹפָר בַּכֵּסֶה לְיוֹם חַגֵּנוּ.” “Blow the trumpet at the time of the New Moon.”
By the use of the shofar, judgment is transformed into Mercy. Blessed are the Israelites who know how to remove judgments from the judge’s throne and make it a throne of Mercy. They do it by using the shofar.
