Zohar BehaalotchaNumbers 16:4 “וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה אֶל מֹשֶׁה הִנְנִי מַמְטִיר לָכֶם לֶחֶם מִן הַשָּׁמָיִם וְיָצָא הָעָם וְלָקְטוּ דְּבַר יוֹם בְּיוֹמוֹ לְמַעַן אֲנַסֶּנּוּ הֲיֵלֵךְ בְּתוֹרָתִי אִם לֹא.” "Then YHVH o Moses, "Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you. And the people shall go out and gather a certain quota every day, that I may test them, whether they will walk in My law or not." Moses rejoiced and said; surely now, this perfection will be found in me because, thanks to me, the Manna comes down for Israel. When Moses saw that, they descended to a lower level and asked for meat, saying, "Our soul loathes this worthless bread."; Numbers 21:5 “וַיְדַבֵּר הָעָם בֵּאלֹהִים וּבְמֹשֶׁה לָמָה הֶעֱלִיתֻנוּ מִמִּצְרַיִם לָמוּת בַּמִּדְבָּר כִּי אֵין לֶחֶם וְאֵין מַיִם וְנַפְשֵׁנוּ קָצָה בַּלֶּחֶם הַקְּלֹקֵל.” "And the people spoke against God and Moses: "Why have you brought us out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? There is no food or water, and our soul loathes this worthless bread." Moses thought that in such a case, his level was flawed. "If this is the situation, then my level is flawed. Because of me, Israel had the Manna to eat in the desert, now I am imperfect, and Aaron is flawed, and Nahshon, son of Aminadav, is flawed. Aaron and Nahshon were holding on the right and on the left of Moshe (as said in Zohar Vaetchnan #13), #147 Therefore he said, "If You treat me like this, please kill me here and now," because I have become like the Nukva that is Malchut with her food, that is, in the meat they ask. And because they fed up with the Manna from the heavens, I came down from the heaven, which is the level of Zeir Anpin to the level of the Nukva, the level of meat eating. Moses was above all the prophets of the world because they prophesied with "כה," which is the Nukva, and Moses prophesied with "זה," that is Zeir Anpin, who is called "שמים" "heavens." And so Moses said, "Do not let me see my wretchedness!" because going down to a lower level is considered an aspect of death. {||}
