Zohar Beshalach

#164
In this place, which is the Malchut, each of the three lines of the seventy-two letters is engraved, from which the Holy Name comes out, and the secret of the Chariot is derived. This results in seventy-two names, each composed of three letters. Here, the three lines, the Patriarchs, who are Chessed, Gevurah, and Tiferet, are engraved to be interconnected. This forms the Holy Name of seventy-two, engraved in its letters.

#165
The combination of these letters is as follows: The first letters, which are the seventy-two letters of the verse ‘ויסע’ (Exodus 14:19), are written in their regular straight order, as straightness indicates Chessed. This is because all the first letters are found in Chessed, the Right line, to follow a straight and orderly path.

#166
The second set of letters, which are the seventy-two letters in the verse ‘ויבוא’ (Exodus 14:20), are written in a reverse sequence, meaning they are written from last to first. This is because all the seventy-two letters of the second line are in the aspect of Gevurah to reveal judgments and tools of arms from the left side. When they are in reverse, they allude to judgments.

#167
The third set of letters, which are the seventy-two letters in the verse ‘ויט’ (Exodus 14:21), are letters that are written to show shades of colors to adorn the Holy King. These represent seventy-two shades of splendor, and they all connect and intertwine in it because it is the middle line. It is decorated with its crowns in a straight way and marks both sides, meaning both the Right and Left lines, as it sustains the illumination of both, like a king adorned by everything.
