Daily Zohar 4852

Hebrew translation:
339. רַבִּי שִׁמְעוֹן פָּתַח, (דברים כג) כִּי ה’ אֱלֹהֶיךָ מִתְהַלֵּךְ בְּקֶרֶב מַחֲנֶךָ לְהַצִּילְךָ וְגוֹ’. כִּי ה’ אֱלֹהֶיךָ – זוֹ הַשְּׁכִינָה שֶׁנִּמְצֵאת עִם יִשְׂרָאֵל, וְכָל שֶׁכֵּן בַּגָּלוּת, לְהָגֵן עֲלֵיהֶם תָּמִיד מִכָּל הַצְּדָדִים וּמִכָּל שְׁאָר הָעַמִּים כְּדֵי שֶׁלֹּא יַשְׁמִידוּ אֶת יִשְׂרָאֵל.

And therefore, the Torah commands regarding her twice: Once, when she is dwelling with the King in unified Zivug (union), and she is called “your mother,” as it is written: “עֶרְוַת אִמְּךָ לֹא תְגַלֵּה” “You shall not uncover the nakedness of your mother.” Meaning: You must not cause her to become distanced from Him, nor bring about her dismissal through your sins, as it is written: “וּבְפִשְׁעֵיכֶם שֻׁלְּחָה אִמְּכֶם” “Because of your transgressions, your mother was sent away.” (Isaiah 50:1) And once, when she is in exile with you and has been banished from the palace of the King— she is then called “the wife of your father.” And even though she has become distant from the King, you must not cause her to be cast entirely away so that your enemies gain control over you, and she will no longer protect you in exile. This is what the verse means: “The nakedness of your father’s wife you shall not uncover.” Why? Because “it is your father’s nakedness.” Even though she has been distanced from the King, the oversight and concern of the King remain upon her always. And one must be especially careful not to sin against her.
Notes:
The Zohar teaches that the Shechinah (Malchut) must be honored and guarded, whether she is visibly united with the King or wandering in exile. To “uncover her nakedness” is to sin in a way that distances us from the Holy— and this brings suffering, loss of protection, and exile upon us. Yet, even in her hidden state, the King’s eye is still upon her. The Divine bond is never fully broken, and we are commanded to preserve it through righteous action and reverence.

Rabbi Shimon opened: “כִּי ה’ אֱלֹהֶיךָ מִתְהַלֵּךְ בְּקֶרֶב מַחֲנֶךָ לְהַצִּילְךָ” “For Hashem your God walks in the midst of your camp to save you…” (Deuteronomy 23:15) “For Hashem your God” — this refers to the Shechinah, the holy presence that dwells among Israel. And all the more so during exile, she remains with them to protect them always, from all sides and from all the other nations, so that they will not be able to destroy Israel.
Notes:
Even in our most vulnerable state, the Shechinah does not abandon Israel. She is present within the camp and the exile, guarding, surrounding, and preserving the people from destruction. This is the ultimate source of hope and endurance throughout Jewish history: God’s compassionate presence remains with us, even when hidden or obscured.
