And in the future to come, the Holy One, Blessed be He, will return the Shechinah to her proper place so that all will be in a single union (זווג אחד Zivug Echad). As it is written: “בַּיּוֹם הַהוּא יִהְיֶה ה’ אֶחָד וּשְׁמוֹ אֶחָד” “On that day, Hashem will be One and His Name One” (Zechariah 14:9). And if you ask: Is He not One now? No — Because now, the wicked of the world cause that Zeir Anpin and Malchut are not united. For the Queen (Malchut) becomes distant from the King (Zeir Anpin), and they are not in union (Zivug). And the Supernal Mother, which is Binah, withdraws from the King and does not nurse Him (Zeir Anpin).

And therefore, Binah does not provide sustenance to Zeir Anpin (Z “A) because a King without the Matron (Malchut) is not crowned with the crowns of the Mother (Binah), as he was at first when he was united with the Matron. Then, the Mother would crown him with many crowns, with many lights, with sacred supernal crowns, as it is written: “צְאֶ֧ינָה וּֽרְאֶ֛ינָה בְּנ֥וֹת צִיּ֭וֹן בַּמֶּ֣לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹ֑ה בָּֽעֲטָרָ֗ה שֶֽׁעִטְּרָה־לּ֤וֹ אִמּוֹ֙ בְּי֣וֹם חֲתֻנָּת֔וֹ וּבְי֭וֹם שִׂמְחַ֥ת לִבּֽו” “Go out, O daughters of Zion, and behold King Solomon, with the crown with which his mother crowned him…” (Songs 3:11) At the time when he was joined with the Matron, the Supernal Mother (Binah) crowned him properly. But now, when the King is not united with the Matron, the Supernal Mother takes back her crowns, withholds from him the springs of the rivers (meaning the flow of Light from Binah), and he is no longer in a state of union. And therefore, so to speak, he is not in a state of One.
Notes:
The true Oneness of God — as expressed in “Hashem is One” — depends on the union between Zeir Anpin (Z “A) and Malchut (Shechinah). When they are united, the Supernal Mother (Binah) crowns Z “A and bestows light and blessing upon him. When they are separated, this flow is blocked due to sin and spiritual corruption, and the unity of the Divine system is broken. This is why, during times of separation, even though God is One in essence, it appears, from our world, that “He is not One” because the channels of Divine unity are not functioning in harmony.
This reminds us that our spiritual conduct directly affects the higher worlds and that restoring unity below enables Divine unity above, which restores blessing, peace, and Divine presence to the world.
