Daily Zohar # 5133 – Vayikra – The river of fire

And that river, concerning which it is said: “נְהַר דִּי נוּר נָגֵד וְנָפֵק מִן קֳדָמוֹהִי” “A river of fire was flowing and coming forth from before Him” (Daniel 7:10) — a river of fire is drawn and issues before Him. The souls of the tzaddikim bathe and are purified in it, while the souls of the wicked are judged in it and are burned in it like straw on fire. And this is “fire consuming fire.”
YHVH with the nikkud of Elohim — which is Binah — is the sun. Its sheath is Adonai. And this is the secret that was established: that in the future to come, the Holy One, blessed be He, will bring forth the sun from its sheath — that the name אדני (Adonai), which is Malchut, will no longer cover the name YHVH with the nikkud of Elohim, which is Binah. And then the fire of judgment that is in the left line of Binah will be revealed without the sheath of Malchut. The tzaddikim will be healed by it, and the wicked will be judged by it.

And from the fire of the living creatures (Chayot, חיות) of the Throne of judgment (as mentioned above in #277), there would descend a lion of fire to consume and burn the sacrifices and the appointed ones. For over every limb with which a person sinned, there is one destroying accuser (קטיגור) appointed over it. As we have established: Whoever commits one transgression acquires for himself one accuser.
And immediately when the supernal fire descends and burns the limbs, the fats, and the inner parts of the bulls, lambs, he-goats, and she-goats — this is the secret of YHVH descending like a lion of fire to burn them — the limbs of the sacrifices are burned, and the destroyers appointed over the limbs with which they sinned are burned, and the sins of Israel — which are the limbs of the Shekhinah — are atoned for.
Notes:
The Zohar describes the “river of fire” (Daniel 7:10) that flows from before the Divine. In this river, the souls of the tzaddikim are purified, while the souls of the wicked are burned like straw; This fire is “fire consuming fire” — the revealed fire of Binah (YHVH vocalized as Elohim) when Malchut (Adonai) no longer covers it. In the future, this uncovered fire of judgment from the left line of Binah will heal the righteous and judge the wicked.
Additionally, a lion of fire descends from the fiery Chayot surrounding the Throne of Judgment to consume the offerings. Each limb a person sins with has its own accusing destroyer. When the supernal fire burns the sacrificial parts, it simultaneously burns those spiritual accusers, atoning for the sins of Israel, which are considered the “limbs of the Shekhinah.” This reveals the profound unity between the sacrificial service and the rectification of the divine structure.
