Daily Zohar # 5134 – Vayikra – The Throne of Mercy
Daily Zohar 5134

Zohar Vayikra

#280
At that time, the Chayot that are appointed over the merits — which are from the Throne of Mercy (Rachamim, רחמים), which is teshuvah, that is, the supernal Ima, Binah — draw near. And with what do they draw near? With the Name YHVH that enters into them. And because of this, it is a korban (offering/sacrifice) to YHVH, for there is no one who can bring the Chayot and the Yesodot near, to bring peace between them, except the Name YHVH, which is Zeir Anpin, the middle line. With the Name YHVH, water draws near to fire — that is, the right line to the left line — and they do not extinguish one another. And the ruach — which is the middle line — draws near to the dust, which is Malchut, and there is no separation between them.
#281
At that time, these Chayot and the above-mentioned Yesodot are complete, and they are called “holy ones,” for there is no impurity among them. Moreover, “shelamim” (peace offerings / complete) — they are the final Hei of the Name YHVH, that is, Malchut, who is the completion of the middle column, which is Zeir Anpin, in all the combinations included in Zeir Anpin for all his six extremities (ו”ק), which are the six sefirot: Chessed- Gevurah- Tiferet- Netzach- Hod- Yessod. For Zeir Anpin himself is the secret of Yod-Hei-Vav of YHVH, in which there are six permutations, as explained, and the final Hei completes him in every single permutation.
Notes:
The Zohar describes the inner process of the korban (offering) during a time of teshuvah. The holy Chayot (living creatures) from the Throne of Mercy (Binah) draw near through the power of the Name YHVH — Zeir Anpin, the middle line. This Name brings peace between opposing forces: water (right line / Chesed) approaches fire (left line / Gevurah) without extinguishing it, and the middle line (ruach) unites with Malchut (the dust/earth) without separation.
The offerings are called “shelamim” (peace/complete offerings) because the final Hei of YHVH — Malchut — completes Zeir Anpin in all his six directions (Chessed through Yessod). When Malchut is properly rectified and united, the entire structure becomes whole and holy, with no impurity. This is the deeper meaning of the sacrificial service: it restores perfect harmony and completion between Zeir Anpin and Malchut through the power of the divine Name.
