Tikkun 47 – 14
“עֹטֶה-אוֹר, כַּשַּׂלְמָה; נוֹטֶה שָׁמַיִם, כַּיְרִיעָה.”
“Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment, who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain”
The cup of wine should be decorated and specially made for the wine blessing.
The Zohar tells us that the decoration is the aspect of the light ‘dressed’ in the air. The Ten Sefirot represented by the letter י Yod, is dressed with the Light , אוֹר. When the י Yod is added to the word light, אוֹר, it makes the word for air, אויר. We breath the life force of God that comes into our body through the air. Without it there is no life.
The blessing on the food, wine and the process of handling the wine cup (described in Daily Zohar #652), ‘dress’ it with great light. This is a spiritual technology that transforms our words and actions into light to be manifested in our lives.
