Genesis 3:10
“ וַיֹּאמֶר, אֶת-קֹלְךָ שָׁמַעְתִּי בַּגָּן; וָאִירָא כִּי-עֵירֹם אָנֹכִי, וָאֵחָבֵא.”
“And he said: ‘I heard Thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself ”

The Zohar says that Adam’s thoughts are considered as his sins and explains that thoughts are ‘dresses’ for the light that are aroused in the vessel.

The term ‘dress’ ‘לבוש’ is used to define how the Endless light reveals itself. (Example. A white light ‘dressed’ in yellow, shows yellow light. The base light is the same but the ‘dress’ reveals a different aspect of it.)

When a thought comes into our mind, it starts at the level of Chokmah and immediately goes to Binah for processing. Binah makes the decision of ‘what to do with that thought?’. Our soul is actively involved in the process and should evaluate the thought at this time. It can take control by proceeding to the next step and allowing Chokmah and Binah to come together revealing the Sefirah of Da’at. That unification would form energy force that will continue down to the lower seven Sefirot and drive our actions.

Most people have problems when making the right choice. They may see a nice red Apple and may not consider that the apple could be poisoned. The good look of it will increase the desire to have it. It may be 50/50 percent chance that the apple is bad, but 99% of people will sink their teeth in it.

Before we let the thought proceed to the next level and drive our actions, we should stop and think about ‘where the Apple came from?’. If we learn about the source and the cause of what requires our actions then we can make the right decision.

If Adam and Eve stopped to evaluate the Snake and question his motives then the outcome would’ve been totally different.

Our best protection from falling into the hands of the negative side and lose our energy is by stopping the thoughts before they go into action and becomes too late to reverse the process.

When the action is done, it exposes the negative that was inside and this is why Adam said “’I heard your voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself ”
