72. קוּם רוֹעֶה הַנֶּאֱמָן, קַח אֶבֶן זוֹ בְּיָדְךָ, שֶׁנֶּאֱמַר בָּהּ (זכריה ג) עַל אֶבֶן אַחַת שִׁבְעָה עֵינָיִם, לִשְׁבֹּר קְלִפַּת הָאֱגוֹז. שֶׁהֲרֵי כַּמָּה רוֹעִים פַּרְנְסֵי הַדּוֹר הִתְכַּנְּסוּ עַל הָאֶבֶן הַזֹּאת, שֶׁהִיא סֶלַע שֶׁלְּךָ לְהוֹצִיא מַיִם מִשָּׁם, שֶׁכַּלָּה שֶׁלְּךָ מַעְיַן הַחָכְמָה בַּסֶּלַע הַזֶּה, שֶׁנְּבִיעָתוֹ בַּתּוֹרָה בְּסוֹדוֹת נִסְתָּרִים אֵין סוֹף, וְעָלֶיהָ נֶאֱמַר (איוב כח) וְהַחָכְמָה מֵאַיִן תִּמָּצֵא.
73. וְכָל תֹּקֶף שֶׁלָּהֶם לְהַעֲבִיר אֶת הַקְּלִפָּה שֶׁלְּמַעְלָה, וּכְשֶׁמַּגִּיעִים לַקְּלִפָּה הַשְּׁנִיָּה, שֶׁהִיא חֲזָקָה, הִיא קָשָׁה לָהֶם, וּמַכִּים בָּהּ כָּל יְמֵיהֶם כֻּלָּם בִּלְשׁוֹנָם, שֶׁהִיא חֲזָקָה כְּמוֹ פַּטִּישִׁים, וְאֵין לָהֶם רְשׁוּת לְהוֹצִיא מִמֶּנָּה מַיִם, אֶלָּא הַטִּפּוֹת הַלָּלוּ שֶׁיָּצְאוּ עַל יָדְךָ בִּזְמַן שֶׁנֶּאֱמַר בָּהּ (במדבר כ) וַיַּךְ אֶת הַסֶּלַע בְּמַטֵּהוּ פַּעֲמָיִם. וּבַמַּכָּה הַשְּׁנִיָּה יָצְאוּ הַטִּפּוֹת הַלָּלוּ, וְאֵלּוּ הֵם רְמָזִים שֶׁל חָכְמָה, רְמָזִים שֶׁל קַבָּלָה, שֶׁהֵם בַּחֲגִיגָה, וּשְׁאָר הַמִּשְׁנָיוֹת. וּמֵהָאֶבֶן הַזֹּאת אֵין מִי שֶׁיּוֹצִיא חָכְמָה, שֶׁהִיא מִבִּפְנִים, שֶׁאֵין לָהּ סוֹף, (שֶׁהוּא הַמֹּחַ מִבִּפְנִים) חוּץ מִמְּךָ, שֶׁנֶּאֱמַר בְּךָ הֲלָכָה לְמֹשֶׁה מִסִּינַי.

Moses is invited to pick the ‘stone’ refering to the letter H of Malchut. (Book of Formation refers to letters as stones/building blocks)
Zechariah 3:9
“כִּי הִנֵּה הָאֶבֶן, אֲשֶׁר נָתַתִּי לִפְנֵי יְהוֹשֻׁעַ–עַל-אֶבֶן אַחַת, שִׁבְעָה עֵינָיִם; הִנְנִי מְפַתֵּחַ פִּתֻּחָהּ, נְאֻם יְהוָה צְבָאוֹת, וּמַשְׁתִּי אֶת-עֲו‍ֹן הָאָרֶץ-הַהִיא, בְּיוֹם אֶחָד”
“’For behold, the stone that I have set before Joshua; on one stone are seven eyes. Behold, I will engrave an inscription on it,’ declares YHVH of hosts, ‘and I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day.”
Malchut connects to the seven Sefirot above it. Moses as the central column connects to all of them. With the unification with his ‘bride’, Malchut, Moses has the power to break all the Klipot that block the light and bring out water from the ‘rock’, which is the point where the light of Chokmah is revealed in Malchut.

Numbers 20:11
“וַיָּרֶם מֹשֶׁה אֶת-יָדוֹ, וַיַּךְ אֶת-הַסֶּלַע בְּמַטֵּהוּ–פַּעֲמָיִם; וַיֵּצְאוּ מַיִם רַבִּים, וַתֵּשְׁתְּ הָעֵדָה וּבְעִירָם”
“Then Moses lifted up his hand and struck the rock twice with his rod; and water came forth abundantly, and the congregation and their beasts drank”
Shepherds, who are leaders of the generation, gathered around the rock, trying to bring out water but they have they can only remove the outer Klipa. The second Klipa is strong and even with great efforts and powerful prayers they don’t have permission to bring out water from the rock.
There are two levels in Malchut. The first one is called ‘מנעולא’ (pronounced‘Man’ulah’). It means (Locked), which is the letter ה H in a dark state of Malchut before elevating to Binah, where Malchut experienced the Light of the Binah, the upper ה H. On the way down Malchut lost the Light but the lack of Light created the desire for it. The initial state, Man’uala, is difficult because it is dark without light like the aspect of death. The second state is called Maftecha (opened). It defined Malchut as a vessel that experienced the Light and has a desire for it.
Only Moses would be able to bring the Light in its fullness to both levels. This is the secret of ‘hitting’ the rock twice, once for Manuala and once for Maftecha to bring out the water, which is the aspect of revealing the light of Chokmah in Malchut.
Rabbi Shimon and those who studied with Moses, asked him to pick up Malchut of Manulah, correct it and expedite the path of the final correction.
