“Cry aloud with your voice, O daughter of Gallim! Pay attention, Laishah and wretched Anathoth!”This verse is said about Malchut that is the ‘daughter’ of Gallim. ‘גַּלִּים’ literally means ‘Waves’ and the root ‘גל’, means ‘wave’ and also ‘revealment’. The Zohar explains that the verse tells the children of Israel in Malchut to rejoice because the ‘waves’ are revelations of Lights that flow from Chokma through Chessed and gathered in Malchut.#85
‘Laishah’ is a female name that refers to Malchut without light and the opposite of ‘Gallim’ that is a reference to Lights.
Job 4:11
“The strong lion (Laish) perishes for lack of prey, and the cubs of the lioness are scattered.”
Laish is the ‘male’ form of ‘Laishah’. It’s a Lion that is stronger than other animals. It has the lower aspect of Gevurah in Malchut that doesn’t have Light, ‘for lack of prey’.When the upper light comes into Malchut and leaves without staying, it is called ‘Laishah’. She is lost without the Light, as it says ‘the cubs of the lioness are scattered’.#86
1 Kings 2:26
“And to Abiathar the priest, the king said, “Go to Anathoth, to your estate, for you deserve death. But I will not at this time put you to death, because you carried the ark of YHVH GOD before David my father, and because you shared in all my father’s affliction.”‘Anathoth’ as referenced in the two verses above, means ‘poorness’.
The Zohar brings the story of Abiyathar who runs away from King Saul that killed his father and other priests. He found refuge and friendship with King David. While King David was alive, Abiyather was rich because of the Light King David was drawing but after his death, Abiyathar lost the supporting light from King David and became poor.Lesson;
We should always stay close to the sources of Light. We study from books, teachers that we trust and from any Kosher website that can benefit us.
When we do so we keep the ‘waves’ coming to our shores with Light of Chokmah wrapped with Chassadim that benefit us greatly.{||}
