Daily Zohar # 3209 – Vayetze – The stone of the house of God.
.

Zohar Vayetze
#82
Genesis 28:11
“He came to a certain place and spent the night there because the sun had set, and he took one of the stones of the place and put it under his head, and lay down in that place.”
Rabbi Aba says that it is written “and he took one of the stones of the place”. The ‘stones’ were 12 that support Malchut and the one that Jacob took was above the rest.
Genesis 28:17
“And he was afraid and said, “How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven.”
“So Jacob rose early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put under his head and set it up as a pillar (מַצֵּבָה) and poured oil on its top.”
Jacob realized that the stone he got connected to has the energy of God and he set it as a ‘מַצֵּבָה’ ‘pillar’. The word ‘מַצֵּבָה’ is usually used with the meaning of a tombstone that we place over a burial place with the name of the person to remember him. ‘מַצֵּבָה’ has the numerical value of 137 that is the same as for ‘קבלה’, ‘Kabbalah’ to indicate that this is a point where Jacob received and connected to God.
The Zohar says that this stone is the “Drinking Stone” that God used to initiate the creation of the material world. It came from the letter Yod י of the name.

The Zohar asks why Jacob said, “the house of God” and not “the house of YHVH” and explains that YHVH is Right and Mercy and ELHYM is Left and judgment that is the state in Malchut. After the house of God was built, we say (Psalms 122:1 ) “שִׁיר הַמַּעֲלוֹת לְדָוִד שָׂמַחְתִּי בְּאֹמְרִים לִי בֵּית יְהוָה נֵלֵךְ.” “A Song of Ascents, of David. I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of YHVH.”. YHVH is the Light of Mercy that is brought to us from the Holy Temple and the name itself
Lesson;
God brought the night earlier than in its natural time to make Jacob stop at that specific place. It was the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. When Jacob came back home to the Holy Land after serving his Evil father-in-law, Laban, he became spiritually complete as a center column and merited that special connection to the Future Holy Temple.
