Zohar Balak
Continued from previous DZ
Numbers 23:24
“הֶן עָם כְּלָבִיא יָקוּם וְכַאֲרִי יִתְנַשָּׂא לֹא יִשְׁכַּב עַד יֹאכַל טֶרֶף וְדַם חֲלָלִים יִשְׁתֶּה.”
“Look, a people rises like a lioness, And lifts itself up like a lion; It shall not lie down until it devours the prey, And drinks the blood of the slain.”

#479
Rabbi Aba said Uriel is a supernal angel, and he was seen in the form of a strong lion lying on the altar and eating the sacrifices. And when Israel was not so entitled, they would see the form of an insolent dog laying on him. Then Israel would know that they needed to repent, and they did Teshuva.
“It shall not lie down until it devours the prey” refers to the sacrifices offered at night. “And drinks the blood of the slain” refers to the wars the Holy One Blessed be He makes with their enemies.

#480
Rabbi Elazar asks what is “he shall not lie down” and answers that every night, when a man walks according to the commandments of his master, he does not lie down on his bed until he kills 1125 of those evil species that present with him. Rabbi Aba said, “A thousand are from the left, as it is written, ”A thousand may fall at your side,” (Psalm 91:7).
Psalm 149:5-7
“יַעְלְזוּ חֲסִידִים בְּכָבוֹד יְרַנְּנוּ עַל מִשְׁכְּבוֹתָם.”
“רוֹמְמוֹת אֵל בִּגְרוֹנָם וְחֶרֶב פִּיפִיּוֹת בְּיָדָם.”
“לַעֲשׂוֹת נְקָמָה בַּגּוֹיִם תּוֹכֵחֹת בַּלְאֻמִּים.”
“Let the devoted(Chassidim) be joyful in glory; Let them sing aloud on their beds.”
“Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, And a two-edged sword in their hand,”
“To execute vengeance on the nations, And punishments on the peoples;.”
The prayers of the Bedtime Shema are powerful, and as the Zohar above says, it kills 1125 spiritual entities from the other side that we created with our impure actions.
The verses above tell us that prayer is like a sword that kills the judgments that are ready to execute harm on us.

As we come closer to Rosh Hashanah, we should pay our debts and stand free of judgments in front of the supreme judge. If you benefit from the Daily Zohar studies and don’t make donations from time to time, now would be a good time to make a ** Donation - Rosh Hashanah and support the Daily Zohar that makes Zohar studies available, free for all.
