King David fled from his son Abshalom because he saw that people of higher importance than him in the world, also fled.
Jacob fled alone as it is written (Hosea 12:13) “Jacob fled to the land of Aram”, Moses fled alone, as it is written (Exodus 2:15) “but Moses fled from Pharaoh”. When King David fled from his son, he saw the great heroes and leaders of the nation surrounding him to provide protection from all sides. For that honor, he praised Hashem (Psalms 3).
Moses and Jacob met by this well at the time they fled, but not King David. The well is the aspect of the Nukva, Malchut. King David didn’t see the well when he fled, because he sinned with Batsheva and corrupted his connection to Malchut.
The well was happy to welcome Moses and Jacob, and the water rose up for them, like a woman happy to welcome her husband.
Elijah the prophet also fled to safety but he did not have a connection to the well. It is because Elijah was a messenger and an angel that does missions for Malchut. Moses and Jacob were on the level of Zeir Anpin that is above Malchut and for that, the well was happy to see them, and the water rose to welcome them.
This is the secret of elevating female waters to connect with male waters to make unification of Light and vessel.
