Daily Zohar # 4036 – Balak – Donkey in trouble
Daily Zohar 4036

“Then the Angel of YHVH stood in a narrow path between the vineyards, with a wall on this side and a wall on that side.”
At first, it is written, “and the donkey turned aside out of the way and went into the field”, which means that the donkey turned away from the witchcraft loaded on her by Balaam and then went to the “field,” which is the aspect of Malchut of holiness. Balaam struck the donkey to turn her back on his path of sorcery.
Rabbi Yitzchak said that between the angel and Balaam, the donkey was in trouble. When Balaam saw that he could not bring her back to his path, he struck her with a stick, which is a harsh judgment, as previously explained.
Rabbi Abba said how much we have to look at the words of the Torah, these verses are implied in the supreme wisdom (Chokmah). The angel did not go out to show himself to one donkey or stand among vineyards against it on two sides, but everything is a supreme secret. The Holy One, Blessed be He, wanted to protect Israel, so no evil force could rule over them because they are part of him.
