#146
Rabbi Shimon was walking on the road, and with him were Rabbi Elazar, his son, Rabbi Abba, and Rabbi Yehuda. While they were walking, Rabbi Shimon said, I wonder how the people of the world do not look to understand the words of the Torah and know what the ways of the world are.
Isaiah 26:9
“נַפְשִׁי אִוִּיתִיךָ בַּלַּיְלָה אַף רוּחִי בְקִרְבִּי אֲשַׁחֲרֶךָּ כִּי כַּאֲשֶׁר מִשְׁפָּטֶיךָ לָאָרֶץ צֶדֶק לָמְדוּ יֹשְׁבֵי תֵבֵל.”
“With my soul, I have desired You in the night, Yes, by my spirit within me I will seek You early; For when Your judgments are in the earth, The inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.”
Rabbi Shimon quotes this verse and explains that when a person goes to sleep in bed, the soul leaves the body and goes up to face the king; only one part of the life of the heart stays in the body.

#147
And the soul leaves the body and seeks to ascend, and there are many levels to go up. The soul wanders and comes across Klipot from the impure side. If the soul is pure, meaning it was not defiled with the body during the day, it goes up. If the soul is not pure, it becomes defiled among these Klipot that cling to it, and the soul cannot rise further.

Lesson;
The Bedtime Shema is a ‘sword’ we use to kill the impurities on the soul’s path and ascend higher.

Friday would be a good day to make a ** Donation and support the Daily Zohar projects, especially if you didn’t donate in the past week. Giving on Friday, which is an aspect of Yessod, expands the vessel for the Light and honor of Shabbat.
