Exodus 2:6
“וַתִּפְתַּח וַתִּרְאֵהוּ אֶת הַיֶּלֶד וְהִנֵּה נַעַר בֹּכֶה וַתַּחְמֹל עָלָיו וַתֹּאמֶר מִיַּלְדֵי הָעִבְרִים זֶה.”
“And when she opened it, she saw the child, and behold, the baby wept. So she had compassion on him and said, “This is one of the Hebrews’ children.”
He asks, what is “וַתִּרְאֵהוּ”? “She saw him” It should have been said, “וַתֵּרֶא” “She saw.” Rabbi Shimon said there is nothing in the Torah, or even one letter in the Torah, that does not contain supreme and precious secrets. He replies, we have learned the impression of the King and the Matron, Zeir Anpin, and Malchut, that are the secret of the letters ו”ה VH in the YHVH name. These letters (ו”ה) are added to the word “וַתִּרְאֵ,” and that is why it is written “וַתִּרְאֵהוּ.” Immediately after, it says, “So she had compassion on him.” Up to this point, the verse is about the upper worlds, and the rest relates to the lower world, except for this scripture, which is written;
Exodus 2:4
“וַתֵּתַצַּב אֲחֹתוֹ מֵרָחֹק לְדֵעָה מַה יֵּעָשֶׂה לוֹ.”
“And his sister stood afar off to know what would be done to him.”
He asks, whose sister, and answers, the sister of Zeir Anpin, who calls the Congregation of Israel, my sister, as it is written “Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my perfect one” (Songs 5:2). “From afar,” means as written;
Jeremiah 31:2
“מֵרָחוֹק יְהוָה נִרְאָה לִי וְאַהֲבַת עוֹלָם אֲהַבְתִּיךְ עַל כֵּן מְשַׁכְתִּיךְ חָסֶד.”
“YHVH has appeared from afar to me, saying: “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore, with lovingkindness, I have drawn you.”
And the lesson of this scripture relates to Moses, “and the sister” of Zeir Anpin, who is Malchut, appeared to Moses at that time from afar.

He asks what is the meaning of this discussion, and he replies it is to teach us that the souls of Tzadikim are known to everyone above before they come to the world. This is the same for all righteous people and even more so for Moses. The souls of the Tzadikim are drawn from a higher place because, as we read “from the house of Levi,” it implies Chokamah and Binah, as we learned (# 311). The secret we learned from this is there is a father and a mother for the soul, just as there is a father and mother for the body in this world. Moses’s soul was born from the unification of “איש,” “man,” which is Zeir Anpin, and “daughter from the house of Levi,” which s Malchut.
