Tikkun 22 – 46
Song of Songs 8:6
“שִׂימֵנִי כַחוֹתָם עַל-לִבֶּךָ, כַּחוֹתָם עַל-זְרוֹעֶךָ”
“Set me as a seal upon your heart, as a seal upon your arm;”
On Yom Kippur we ask for “חתמנו לחיים”, it means ”use the seal of life for us.”
The Zohar asks “What is the seal of life?” and gives the answer that, it is the Tree of Life that people are nourished from.
The Tree of Life is measured as to have a length of five hundred years. Year, שנה, in this term is a cycle. It is related to the five levels of Keter, Chokmah, Binah, Zeir Anpin and Malchut. Each one has a complete set of 10 Sefirot times 10 levels each, which adds up to five hundred.
On Yom Kippur we have 5 special prayers to connect us to the Life of the Tree of Life.
Life source comes from Chokmah and Binah, which is the supernal Father and Mother. They are represented by the letters יה YH of the YHVH name.
Ecclesiastes 7:12 “הַחָכְמָה תְּחַיֶּה בְעָלֶיהָ ”
“Wisdom (Chokmah) will preserve life for those who own her”
To ‘own’ Chokmah is to connect it with Binah. The seed of life comes from the Father, Chokmah and when it joins with the Mother, Binah, it creates a life force, which is Da’at that nourishes the lower levels.
