Zohar Balak

#235
The Shechina follows the Israelites when they are in exile as we read in Isaiah 63:9 “בְּכָל צָרָתָם לא [לוֹ] צָר וּמַלְאַךְ פָּנָיו הוֹשִׁיעָם בְּאַהֲבָתוֹ וּבְחֶמְלָתוֹ הוּא גְאָלָם וַיְנַטְּלֵם וַיְנַשְּׂאֵם כָּל יְמֵי עוֹלָם.”
“In all their affliction He was afflicted, And the Angel of His Presence saved them; In His love and in His pity He redeemed them; And He bore them and carried them All the days of old.”
When the Shechina in exile she says ‘I am dark, but lovely’ and the Holy One tells her Songs 6:4 “ יָפָה אַתְּ רַעְיָתִי כְּתִרְצָה, נָאוָה כִּירוּשָׁלִָם; אֲיֻמָּה, כַּנִּדְגָּלוֹת” “O my love, you are as beautiful as Tirzah, Lovely as Jerusalem, Awesome as an army with banners!”.
Even though the Shechina is in exile with her children she is full of Light and strength.

#236
The Holy One Blessed be He also calls her the ‘fairest among women’ because she brings Chassadim to her children. Like a loving mother, she provides for her children in a hidden way even when they act improperly. The Holy One like a good father is happy with her even though the children are punished for not following the righteous path.

Lesson;
Exodus 25:8
“And let them make Me a sanctuary, that I may dwell among them.”
The root of the word ‘dwell’ ’שכן’ is the same root for שכינה ‘Shechina’. The Shechina has a supernal state that is the aspect of Binah and a lower state in Malchut. That is why Binah and Malchut are represented by the same letter ה H.
The beauty of the Shechina is the Light that we will see and enjoy great pleasures in the Final Redemption, B”H today.
