Daily Zohar # 3830 – Vaera – Trap his tail and be safe
Daily Zohar 3830

From the north, a fire flame arises, and a proclaimer calls, stand in groups and spread to four sides because one awakened to put a noose on the face of the Tanin (sea-serpent) as it is written;
“I will turn you around, put hooks into your jaws, and lead you out, with all your army, horses, and horsemen, all splendidly clothed, a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords.”
Then they spread and take the Tanin and pierce holes on his face on the sides of his jaws. Then they push him into a hole in the great abyss until his power breaks. Then they bring him back to his rivers.
Explanation: When the Tanin reaches his level of Malchut of Malchut that happens once in 70 years, his tail has the aspect of Malchut without the light of Binah, and he could hit the holy side above and the levels below. Then the Tanin is put in a trap, and Malchut returns to Binah to sweeten the judgments in the Malchut level of the Tanin. Then he loses the power of his tail and can no longer hurt the upper levels, and he becomes limited to the lower seven sefirot.
The Tanin goes through this process once every seventy years to not hurt the upper levels. After the Tanin is controlled, all levels are happy and say the praise;
“Oh come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before YHVH, our Maker.”
Explanation: The point of Judgment in the tail of the Tanin gets stronger every seventy years. To trap him and disable his ability to damage the upper levels, Binah is lowered in the aspect of bowing down. The Tanin is then lowered to the hole in the great abyss, and his power breaks. Binah ascends back to her place with all her levels, and the Tanin can no longer hurt the higher level.
This is the secret of the rods of the Egyptians that turn to Tanin. The Tanin of Aaron comes from supernal springs on the side of holiness and rule over the Tanin of Egypt.
The supernal sea-serpents that are the Leviathan (Whale) and his spouse were blessed as we read in Genesis 1:28
”Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
They rule over all fish, which are the levels in the streams as it is written;
“And God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.”
And about this, it is written;
“O YHVH, how manifold are Your works! In wisdom, You have made them all. The earth is full of Your possessions—”
This Zohar explains why the rod of Aaron turned into a Tanin that could swallow the rods of the Egyptians. Even though the Tanin of the lower level tries to reach and hit the upper level, his power is disabled with the Light of Binah, and his ability is limited to the lower levels.
The lower seven sefirot count as 7×10 (Sefirot each) = 70. The lowest point in the 70th, which is Malchut of Malchut, or the ‘tail’ of the Tanin. This is where the most chaos and control of the other side happens. We can avoid getting hit by the tail, by trapping it with Light from Binah that we draw with our studies and spiritual connections.
