Zohar Mishpatim
Continued from previous DZ
#121
The elder reflects on his previous discussion and regrets saying it. He said to himself, silence would be better for you, old man, what have you done. Old man, you entered the great sea without ropes and a flag. What will you do? If you say you’ll go up, you can not. If you say you go down, then there are the depths of the great abyss. What will you do old, old man? You cannot go back in time. In such times you were not and did not get used to weakening in your strength because you know that no other person, in this generation, would enter the ship with the depths that you have.

#122
Rabbi Shimon knows how to protect his ways, and if he enters a deep-sea, he will see where to go before entering. He tells the elder; since you didn’t plan your way, you are at that place. Keep wandering in all directions, right, left, length, width, up, and down. Fear not, old man, strengthen you might. How many mighty men have you broken, and how many wars have you come out victorious.

Lesson;
The ‘sea’ is the aspect of Malchut, and the ship is the vessel of Light that gives protection. The six directions are the aspect of the six sefirot of Zeir Anpin.
The elder started a discussion that led him to the point of deep secrets. He knew the risk of revealing them, and he stopped and hesitated to continue. Rabbi Shimon told the elder that he should continue with the study since he reached that ‘depth.’
The revelation of Light in the world is like opening a new window or channel in the higher levels. These revelations are under a specific timetable planned by Hashem. Some great souls can reach higher spiritual levels and reveal them if they get permission from above.
Revealing without permission draws judgment because the revealed Light is taken back to the source, leaving darkness in its place. Rabbi Chaim Vital says that at one time, the students of the Holy Ari pushed him to reveal secrets related to the final redemption, and he did so. When he finished, they heard a sound of a crow, and the Holy Ari immediately said “Baruch Dayan Ha’emet,” as if someone had died. At the same time, his son fell ill at home and died shortly after. Rabbi Chaim Vital did not tell the secret. Rabbi Avraham Azulai entered the gate of the Garden of Eden, and because of that, he couldn’t stay in this world with that high Light. His soul was called up. During Yom Kippur services, the High priest would utter the holy name, and everyone could hear it. Since the Holy Name is the biggest secret that connects to the upper realm of the endless Light, a miracle happened on Yom Kippur, and the people could not have the name in their minds and memory.
The Zohar itself was concealed for over a thousand years before it was allowed to be found, and a few righteous people could start studying it.
In our times, we have access to secrets that only a few knew hundreds of years ago. Since we are getting closer to the great revelation of Light and the Final Redemption, we can see more ‘details.’ We should thank Hashem for bringing us closer to this enlightening knowledge.
