#67
David ran away from King Saul, and because of that, all the priests of the city of Nov were killed by King Saul. Only one, Evyatar, escaped and joined King David.
This situation caused a lot of harm to Israel. King Saul and his sons died, including tens of thousands from Israel.
This situation was counted as a sin, and it needed a correction.
All of King David’s sons were killed in one day, and only one, Yoash, was saved. He was a baby and stolen by Yehosheva, daughter of King Yoram, and she hid him in the Holy Temple to protect the line of King David. It was similar to Evyatar, the priest that escaped the city of Nov. Evyatar was the sole survivor to Ahimelech, the High priest from the priests’ city of Nov.
The killing of the priests in Nov created a day of judgment that was hanging over Israel as we read in Isaiah 10:32
“עוֹד הַיּוֹם בְּנֹב לַעֲמֹד יְנֹפֵף יָדוֹ הַר בית [בַּת] צִיּוֹן גִּבְעַת יְרוּשָׁלָ‍ִם”
“As yet, he will remain at Nob that day; He will shake his fist at the mount of the daughter of Zion, The hill of Jerusalem.”

Lesson;
Source of the following text

The Gemara asks: What is the meaning of the phrase: “This very day shall he halt at Nov” (Isaiah 10:32)? Rav Huna says: That was the final day that remained from the punishment that the Jewish people received from the sin of Nov (see I Samuel, chapter 22). The astrologers said to Sennacherib: If you go and conquer them now, you will overcome the Jewish people; and if not, you will not overcome the Jewish people. The Gemara relates: He walked and traversed in one day a road upon which one must walk for ten days to traverse it.

King Sennacherib missed the opportunity to conquer Israel because the decree from the past was still hanging over Israel. King Chezkiyah saw the mass force of Sennacherib that put Jerusalem under siege. He prayed to Hashem to save Israel, and Hashem answered his prayer. In the morning, all 185,000 soldiers of Sennacherib were found dead, but Sennacherib was left to live.
2 Kings 19:35,36
“And it came to pass on a certain night that the angel of YHVH went out, and killed in the camp of the Assyrians one hundred and eighty-five thousand; and when people arose early in the morning, there were the corpses—all dead.”
“So Sennacherib, king of Assyria, departed and went away, returned home, and remained at Nineveh.”

We need to avoid all and any judgment. It creates opposing forces that can come back to hurt us at an unknown time.
King Chezkiya was righteous, and his prayers were strong enough to create a force that shifted the judgment from hurting Israel to hurting the evil Sennacherib.
Judgment is an aspect of fire that can consume us while revealing Light is water that puts out fire.
Remember! If you have a fire on your tail, bring water!
Or in other words, surround yourself with water to be protected from fire.

The Daily Zohar is a source of daily water that provides protection to those who ‘dive’ in it.

Today is Rosh Chodesh and Friday. Chodesh Tov and Shabbat Shalom.
It would be an excellent day to make a ** Donation, especially if you didn’t donate in the past week. Giving on Friday, which is an aspect of Yessod, expands the vessel for the Light and honor of Shabbat.
