Zohar Kedoshim

#70
Adam’s beauty was from the Light that comes from the supreme link that illuminates the Father, that is Chokmah. Adam had a soul from the level of Neshama of Neshama of Chokmah of Atzilut. (As explained in the Talmud of the Ten sefirot by Rabbi Ashlag, lesson 16: 3)
The beauty of Eve was that no human being could not look at her. Her soul came from the level of Neshama of Neshama of Binah of Atzilut.
Even Adam did not look at her until the time they sinned, and their beauty was reduced. Then Adam could look at her and recognize her to mate with her, as it is written; in Genesis 4:25 “וַיֵּדַע אָדָם עוֹד אֶת אִשְׁתּוֹ” “And Adam knew his wife again”. He knew her by recognition and knew her to mate with her.

#71
A man must not look at the beauty of a woman so that he does not come to bad thoughts. It may cause him to spill seeds that benefit the other side.
When Rabbi Shimon would walk in the city followed by his friends, and he would see beautiful women, he would lower his eyes, and tell his friends, do not turn.

Lesson;
The first souls of Adam and Eve came from Chokmah and Binah of Atzilut. They were in the shape of pure Light. For their challenge to preserve immortal life, God separated them into two, Adam received the soul from the Father that is Chokmah and Eve received it from the Mother, Binah. After the sin, their Light was grounded, and dimmed and their bodies became corporeal.
Before the sin, they were connected spiritually and after the sin, Adam needed to recognize her in her new corporeal ‘shape’ and size.
The ‘impression’ of the twin souls and the original beauty of Eve is strong in our genes. For that reason, we wish to connect to soul mates and beauty. Men have the tendency to look at beautiful women, even if they have a good marriage and strong relationship with their wives.

A man should restrict talking to women beyond professional or necessary communications, because it may drift to personal issues that would lead to the risk of attraction that may cause undesired actions.
When a man comes together with his wife, he should ‘recognize’ her, and know her, avoiding thoughts of other women. The blessings come when the unification is pure. Your spouse is your Adam or Eve. Look into their eyes, and connect with love because the Light that you may be lacking in your life can be revealed at that time.

A single man can draw high-level blessings of unification from the study of the Torah. With that, he connects with the Shechina that takes him as high as he can soar. Moses was separated from his wife in order to connect to the Shechina and bring the Torah to the world. We learn from that that a single person can reach high spiritual levels.
The connections of single women to the sacred text, elevate them to Zeir Anpin and Binah. Their prayers can go higher because they are closer to the Shechina. The laws of prayers come from the study of Hannah when she prayed for a son in front of the Holy.
