Zohar Tzav

#188
The world cannot exist except on the smell, from the smell below, and another smell is known above, which is the illumination of Chokmah. When Shabbat ends, and the extra soul that a person earns on Shabbat departs, the Nefesh and Ruach of the person remain separated and sad. Then the smell that is drawn by the myrtle brings the Nefesh and Ruach closer to each other, and they rejoice.
Lesson;
The smell is a pure sense, and the aroma goes higher. The Zohar connects the Sefirot of Zeir Anpin and Malchut to the smell that makes a connection above, as we learn from the reference to smell and sacrifices below.

#189
And so, the Ruach of the person needs to follow the Ruach above, which is Zeir Anpin, to receive the smell, which is the illumination of Chokmah. When the smell is received, the Ruach and Nefesh, that is Zeir Anpin and Nukva on the upper level, get closer; also, the Ruach and Nefesh of a person approach each other and are happy with the connection. It is like the smell of the sacrifice that by its smell, all the Sefirot of Zeir Anpin come together, and the candles, which are the sefirot of Malchut, receive the Light from them and rejoice.

#190
We see two candles, one above and one below. If a person lights the candle below and extinguishes the candle above, that smoke rising from the candle below is lit by the candle above. So is the smoke that rises from the sacrifice, causes the illumination of Chokmah to continue upward, and lights the upper candles, which are the Sefirot of Zeir Anpin and Malchut. They are lit together, and all the sefirot come together with this smell, and because of that, as we learned, it becomes “a sweet aroma to YHVH.”
Leviticus 1:9
“וְקִרְבּוֹ וּכְרָעָיו יִרְחַץ בַּמָּיִם וְהִקְטִיר הַכֹּהֵן אֶת הַכֹּל הַמִּזְבֵּחָה עֹלָה אִשֵּׁה רֵיחַ נִיחוֹחַ לַיהוָה.”
“but he shall wash its entrails and its legs with water. And the priest shall burn all on the altar as a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, a pleasant aroma to YHVH.”

Lesson;
To make a higher connection with the blessing of nice smell (Besamim בשמים), some say “אִשֵּׁה רֵיחַ נִיחוֹחַ לַיהוָה” “a pleasant aroma to YHVH” before the actual blessing. Some rearrange the words to say “ רֵיחַ נִיחוֹחַ אִשֵּׁה לַיהוָה”.
