Holy Zohar text. Daily Zohar -950
Hebrew translation:

Sorry Hebrew translation is missing from my original files.

Tikkun 70 – 54

Previously we read that a person with deep set eyes, in most cases, represent judgment and death. People with eyes that are more in the front of the face and lined up above the top of the ear have energy of life and mercy.

Ezekiel 1:18
“וְגַבֵּיהֶן–וְגֹבַהּ לָהֶם, וְיִרְאָה לָהֶם; וְגַבֹּתָם, מְלֵאֹת עֵינַיִם סָבִיב–לְאַרְבַּעְתָּן ”
“As for their rings, they were high and they were dreadful; and they four had their rings full of eyes round about.”

In the vision of Ezekiel we read that the Holy Creatures of the throne were high with eyes around them so they could see in all directions. The eyes are the highest ‘sense’ in the body and it is at the level of Chokmah. If the eyes are positioned higher on the face (not deep) then it means ability for higher spiritual connection. The negative aspect is ego and pride.

Exodus 15:1 “…אָשִׁירָה לַיהוָה כִּי-גָאֹה גָּאָה…”
“…I will sing unto YHVH, for He is highly exalted (גָאֹה גָּאָה)…”

The verse above is from the Song that came after the splitting of the Red Sea. It praises God for the exalted state experienced on that event. The root of the word is גא. The spiritual aspect of it is positive as it represents elevation above the physical. On the physical level it means ego and gravity toward selfishness and matter.

The word for ‘genius’ in Hebrew is גאון that means elevated spiritually above the norm. We learn from the Zohar that people with eyes above the normal position have greater mental ability. The spiritual teachers, after the destruction of the second Holy Temple, were called גאונים, literally meaning ‘genius’. That didn’t mean a title for ego but for their ability to connect higher on the spiritual level that could channel life energy from Binah and light of mercy.
