Holy Zohar text. Daily Zohar -1003

Tikkun 70 – 108
אִאֻאֵאֹאָ – EE-OO-EH-OH-AH

The five letters of Alef represent the name אלהים and five times the word ‘light’ ‘אור’ appears in the story of Creation of the first day. They also represent the five Sefirot Chessed, Gevurah, Tiferet, Netzach and Hod that construct the vessel. They hold the light. Yessod is the funnel and Malchut is the beneficiary/consumer.

The Zohar reveals to us that the Nikkud of the Alefs is implied in the two words from the verse in Exodus 28:11 “פִּתּוּחֵי חֹתָם” “engravings of a signet”. It is the secret of the shapes of the stones on the breast plate that the High Priest used to carry on top of his cloths when serving in the Holy Temple.

The numerical value of the Nikkud of the five Alef is 86, as in the name אלהים ELHYM. Each dot is like a Yod and has the numerical value of 10. The Kamatz is constructed from a line and a dot below it. The line is like a Vav and has the value of 6. We have 8 dots = 80 + Vav 6 and together 86.

The light that comes from Chokmah goes into Binah and forms all the letters and Nikkud. This makes Binah the aspect of a signet and with its creative force she makes the marks and the impressions on the Sefirot below.

Rabbi Elazar tells his father ‘but the Torah shows the Nikkud of the second letter as Shuruk (Vav with a dot in the middle) but in the Alefs it is Kubutz (three diagonal dots below the letter)”. Rabbi Shimon explains that when the Vav is not available to make Shuruk then it takes the dot of the Cholam that is a Vav with a dot on top. It also takes the middle dot of the Shuruk and the lower dot of the Chirik. All together they form the Kubutz.
