Zohar Shelach Lecha
Continued from previous DZ
#250
Two lions are on each wheel and wheel, one lion on one side and one on the other. All of them are from green fire. And when the wheels turn, the lions hug each other, and they all move, rolling, sticking to each other. When the pillars rise, the lions growl at each other, and apples (of the pillars) fly in the air and rise up. And the apples hit each other in the air. And then, they return to their place, and from there, they fall. And the lions stretch out their hands to receive them, and the apples rise by themselves.
Holy Chassid, who has seen the wisdom of the art that the Holy One, Blessed be He, has painted in these columns.

Lesson;
The head of the upper Yeshiva describes to Rabbi Shimon, who is called here “Holy Chassid,” the glorious form of the Azara on the upper levels. When the priests prepare the services and the sacrifices in the עזרה Azara, the pillars that have the aspect of Yessod of Zeir Anpin rise up to the upper three sefirot to make the connection to the upper Lights.

#251
At mid day, two eagles come out in each wheel and wheel. And they rest on the heads of these lions. Then the pillars and wheels subside and stand in their place.
Apples fall on the eagles’ mouths, and they accept them. And immediately, the apples fly from mouth to mouth. After an hour and a half, the eagles raise their voices, play a sweet tune in front of them, and hide.

Lesson;
The Zohar describes the flow of Light during the day using symbols. The lion is the aspect of the Right, Chessed; the Eagles represent the center line, the wheels Malchut, and the apples represent the nourishment that comes down from above.
